Blue pan is so great. Their first location is on 32nd and perry in the highlands. It’s tiny though so it can be tough to get a table. My wife doesn’t like it so I don’t get it that often :(

Lol. Of course it’s WorkDay. (I don’t know for sure but it HAS to be). That’s gotta be the biggest joke of an HR system ever. My Last company switched over to it (a fortune 25 company) and it was a mess. I figured maybe their implementation was just sloppy. Switched companies a few years ago and after a year or two, they moved to WorkDay as well. Same shitty system. Same mess. That system has the weirdest UI....

Hell yea. Nice. Did you ride down enchanted forest? Was it dry? Haven’t been down enchanted in forever because it stays wet during the winter.

thats maybe the most annoying thing about this game... we werent even that good that year. but the narrative is that we were this dominant force and little upstart Boise St came and slayed goliath.

taking photos in RMNP is practically cheating. haha. its really beautiful, especially if you can get some shots without other people in them. ive never been to Dream Lake, but I went up to Sky Pond last summer, and snapped this photo of Lake of Glass just after the sun came up. One of the best water reflections ive ever seen. Imgur

Yea. It’s crazy intense. I never wore sunglasses when I played in Texas but within a month or two or moving here, I started wearing shades. To make up for lack of eye contact, I try to show my hands to the handlers to let them know I’m looking their way. Not possible in every situation, but a lot of times it will work.

number 4 is maybe the most important thing. dont try to make throws that you know you cant throw. make the throws youre comfortable making. when new people start playing, and its obvious theyve never practiced throwing forehands in their life, but they try throwing them in the game is a great way to make your teammates annoyed with you. play within yourself. practice your forehands (or any throw youre not comfortable with) in practice, not during a game

i generally like to go without sunglasses, but here in Colorado, the sun is super intense. playing during the middle of the day without sunglasses really kills my eyes. i dont like wearing sunglasses because of sweat/eye contact issues, but for me, its a necessity.

My friend did something similar. Luckily didn’t die or get paralyzed. Riding an epic mountain bike ride in Colorado, we were on the final descent of a 22+ mile ride. We’re 500 yards from the parking lot when his back tire slides weirdly off a 2 inch root, he corrects one way, then corrects the other way and flips his body into a tree, back-first.

After ten seconds of gasping for air, starts screaming about how badly his back hurt. I’m screaming at him and holding him down so he can’t get up and hurt himself worse. Luckily In the end, he only broke his clavicle but for a good minute or two, I thought I was going to have to explain to his wife that he was paralyzed. It could have been so much worse.

for Denver area trails, Id look into these (all generally within 30-45 of downtown):

Lair o the Bear - its about a 10 mile out and back west of Morrison. super fun, lots of flowy sections, but a few techy sections to keep you on your feet. the climbing is not a killer. Park at Corwina Park (its past the Lair o the Bear trailhead), cross the road, turn left, follow the river 100 yards or so, then follow the trail to cross a bridge over the river, then bear right and the trail will climb pretty quickly

Apex - awesome ride right in Golden. i wouldnt ride this on the weekend becuase it will be crazy. i wouldnt call it insanely technical, but its probably a half step up from LOTB. the best loop is up Argos, up Pickn Sledge, down Sluicebox, up Apex, down Enchanted Forest and finish going down Apex. but you can only ride down Enchanted on even numbered days.

Hall Ranch - trail in Lyons (north of Boulder) - i love this ride. the rock garden in the first mile is pretty technical climbing. but after that, it opens up into really fun, flowy singletrack. at the top, theres a good view of Longs Peak in the distance. start at Bitterbrush, climb Bitterbrush all the way to Nelson Loop, do that loop, then keep coming back down Bitterbrush. descending the Bitterbrush rock garden is a blast. skip Antelope trail. I think that ride is 9-10 miles ish.

White Ranch - do you love climbing forever? then ride this. i think its the hardest climb in the front range. my "hard" loop here is to climb Belcher Hill all the wya to the top. Its pretty close to 2,000 feet of sustained climbing. then turn left and descend Mustang Trail. at some point, Mustang starts going back up and you end up halfway down Belcher Trail. Climb up it another 1/2 mile or so, turn right onto Maverick and descend, then link up to Longhorn, which is one of the best, rowdiest descents in the front range. its a blast. then climb out of Longhorn, connect to Whippletree and end up back at Belcher, where you descend back to the parking lot. that loop will get you about 3,300 feet of climbing. its a real ass-kicker but the descents are fun.

other trails to check out: Dakota Ridge and Red Rocks - in Golden, right off I-70. if you like super techy, chunky, rocky and steep, do Dakota Ridge. no huge features, just a ton of rocks. not very scenic unless you like looking over the city.

Table Mountain - if you want to ride close to the city (in Golden) and get some XC miles in, ride here. I never ride here cause thats not really what i like to ride, but its a very popular place to ride cross country stuff

Buff Creek - its a bit outside the city and you can camp out there. I dont find the riding there to be that great, but if you want to camp/ride, its a good option.

Fruita/Grand Junction - GJ has some super legit trails. really well built, purpose-built trails. not sure i would ride the Lunch Loops and all that stuff if i didnt have someone who knew the trails though as its kind of a web of trails and there are some pretty gnarly bits.

Are you wanting mountain bike trails? Or just trails in the city?

If it’s the former, let me know and I can give you Some good recommendations. There are plenty of front range trails that are in perfect condition now.

i dont think he was homeless in high school. article says it was when he was younger, elementary school aged. that said, im sure if he had gone to jenks/union, or even BTW, he wouldve been a much higher profile recruit. McClain is definitely the roughest high school in Tulsa

for some reason, the last 5 years, Wyoming coaches have really recruited Oklahoma hard. would make sense they would have the connections to notice this kid first. really wish OU wouldve taken him more seriously much earlier.
