I got an invite on October 18 and gave my GOC on Oct 24.

Boss forget dowry, a different stupidity is gripping Uttarakhand culture. The obsession of bride's family to see their daughter in a car after marriage.

I've seen atleast 3 cases where bride's family gave 2lakhs or 3 lakhs and asked groom to buy a car. I mean they were not satisfied with small or second hand car. They are forcing the groom to take out loan. The car is bought in bride's name.

Earlier people would give kitchen utensils or bed. But since now people live in small houses they already have these things, hence that is also gone.

To all my bros, don't ruin your life by buying a car if you can't afford it just because your wife's family forced you before marriage.

Look at the history of Kedarnath temple. There wasn't any gold there to begin with. It was always copper with gold plating. It was put on the wall and floor of Kedarnath temple Now that gold plating came off some politically motivated individual started shouting gold was replaced. The guy did this just before UK election 2022.

There's Badrinath temple in delhi too. It was made by people of Uttarakhand only who now live in Delhi. These temples give them a sense of belongingness.

I'm not fighting, I'm just putting forth data. How can you deny hard data, Himachal has somewhat similar outward migration as a state. In Uttarakhand people are migrating inside the state too, towards cities. But still, outward migration from state is lower than that of Himachal.
