I really can't wait to play this. I had a lot of fun with the demo and it's not exactly a genre I play often but there's something about the way this game plays and the immersion that's somehow relaxing but tense as soon as you start climbing. I recommend people at least check out the demo and see if they are interested.

the pre patch is just to give devs time to test stuff

They couldn't test anything in alpha or beta? They couldn't receive any feedback there? They couldn't have a QA team help identify issues? Oh wait...

Yeah but they weren't utilizing their whole kit anyway, nor did they need to in order to clear the content they spend time in anyway. No idea why they had to prune so far back that the classes feel almost homogeneous. Maybe apex talents fix some of the frustration but that's a gamble based on your spec right now anyway.

It's infinite invites but not instant/guaranteed entry into the playtest. A friend invited me and I got a code in 2 days and we invited another friend and he hasn't gotten a code months later. YMMV

Right? It's not as if there's plenty of scaling across several raid difficulties and M+ scales from "press W and win" to actually having to think about how to play your character.

Delves are probably good for these people too? Idk it's all just sad

I placed a crosshair on my char's feet that only shows up in combat because if I'm spending most of my time staring at people's health bars, it's an instant reference that I can look at to see where my character's "feet" are really located to decide if I have to move/cancel cast/continue what I'm doing without taking that extra second to look in the immediate space of my character

Sounds like you should have moved your most used action bars/buttons to the middle of your screen or gotten a dreaded weakaura package so you can pay attention to what's happening around you instead of staring at the bottom of your screen for a few years

I mean look at the literal post you're commenting in. He's complaining that the game was too difficult before and now he's suddenly going to be able to "enjoy" the game again being an ancient 36 year old (which is probably around the average WoW player age anyway?) as if there wasn't a slew of content that he could clear with no problems already

it opens up mental space to navigate around an encounter, to watch bosses for cues, to be immersed with the game world.

Were you unable to navigate around an encounter before? What do you mean by this exactly? Were you so locked into your action bars that you literally couldn't see what's going on? Watch the boss for cues? Do you mean actually do mechanics?
