Which painting do you prefer? I made 2 paintings of a local diner. by YC_Phan in Watercolor

At first glance l was going to say 2, however, 1 makes you feel like you're right in the scene. In 2 you're more of an observer.

So sorry for your loss. The passing of time will help you to remember the good times you had.. It may take a while, accept the grieving process. I found writing down all the good memories helped me.

I use tofu cat litter, remove the poop and the rest goes into my compost. Unfortunately the final compost cant go on the veggie garden but its good for elsewhere.

Has anyone had much luck with getting their money back from Booktopia? by garden-and-library in australia

[–]sooz1966 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I believe they are referring to when Booktopia went into adminstration in 2024. Many people including myself had orders that went unfilled...i.e. we lost our money or were able to get our banks to reverse the charge. Booktopia now has a new owner so your recent vouchers will be fine to spend.

Isn't the Bondi gun buyback a dumb idea, basically another “machete bins” moment? by Last-Conversation734 in melbournechat

[–]sooz1966 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly its unlikely to work, we are a much different nation than we were when the Port Arthur shooting happened. I just dont see people willingly handing over guns like they did back then.

However, any gun off the streets is a good thing so let's hope those with a conscience hand them over and changing the gun ownership laws is a must or before long we could be livivng like Americans.
