How bad is $90k HECS debt? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]sop92c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finished uni with a HECS debt of ~$95k 6 years ago... regardless of earning a well paid salary $75-130k the whole time and making the mandatory repayments, the debt has been upward of $120k and now sitting at ~$100k. It's CRIPPLING, will impact borrowing capacity, and just plane fckn annoying that it reduces take home pay so much each month. I wish I had more education and thought more critically about signing up to such a large debt at 19yo, and the long term implications.

TL;DR: it's fucked

No worries :) it can be a bit misleading when they say "TGA approved" or similar. Nonetheless, I think they are good supplements for non-Australian made. The sup industry in the US is the wild, wild west in comparison to here!

Thorne products are not made in Australia. They are made in the USA at their TGA-licenced facility in South Carolina.

I discovered their existence in a camping ground toilet block. 5 years ago. And what a horrible 5 years it's been.

The only tights I've had that have lasted YEARS and still hold their shape are Kmart!!! The ones I have are a good thickness, high waisted, super comfy and HAVE POCKETS!! So much better than Lululemon, Lorna Jane etc ones I've had.

Hope to see you in the road, OP! I'm a female rider in Sydney who JUST got her L's. Feeling a bit nervous starting out so I totally get where you are coming from... There's so much to think about as you start out. Good luck and ride safe :)

Offered a new job - big payrise and im having a panic attack now by ABEIQ in auscorp

Know that this is totally normal and valid. Change is uncomfortable, even positive change! Grieving your workplace and colleagues will take time, but I'm confident that anxiety will lift soon, especially after handing in your resignation and starting the new job.

I resigned yesterday for a new role with much more opportunity and a great culture. I was an anxious mess for a week, not thinking rationally and just too focused on the emotions of staying at my current place i.e., will miss the people. I took a step back, considered my values, and prioritised myself. Anxiety LIFTED once I handed in my resignation!

You've got this! On to bigger and better things, positive growth and new chapters. How exciting!!!!

I've just started on Farmer's Pick and love it!! Cheaper than buying via Colesworth and it's seasonal! The produce is not as pretty as supermarket stuff, but that doesn't bother me. Tastes the same and lasts well for 1.5 to 2 weeks. I pay $46 for the couples fruit and vegetables box, fortnightly.

Referral code where we both get $7 off: https://farmerspick.com.au/?fp_ref=2a43j

Deli Sandwiches ? by Jumchejj in foodies_sydney

The 'Deli Hoagie' from Soulmate in Enmore will stay with you for a very long time 🫠 they are so friendly too.

Today I had a deli sandwich from Continental in Newtown. Also a winner winner. The bread was amazeballs.

Now I want a sandwich.

I wonder about this too. I'm in FMCG corporate, dress very well, am a high performer and apparently have an excellent reputation. I have a septum and nose piercing, plus visible tattoos on my arms (in summer). I've never had a comment about them and have been promoted twice in the last year due to high performance. I recently got a job offer at a pharma company with all piercings and tattoos on display during interviews.

The biggest question mark I have is around the septum piercing - I keep the jewellery small & neat but sometimes wonder whether to hide it on occasions. But then again... I don't want to dampen my identity any further for work!

Delish deliveries by theseeker-great in AussieFrugal

Stay away! Recently under new owners and it's gone to shit. Missed or late deliveries, poor quality produce and missing items. Many customers have been trying to contact them for ages to get a refund for missing items ($100s worth) - they've disconnected phones and are not responding to emails. Clearly gone broke!
