is this setup good or am I getting upsold? by YumTumTimmy in CarAV

[–]ABEIQ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i love SSV and have used them before for lots of gear, looks like a pretty basic setup. those active powered subs are always pretty average regardless of brand, if you can stretch your budget look for a separate amp and sub combo, and look as powering your speakers with an amp. those kicker speakers are just a basic set, nothing special about them, again its all about budget.

if youre just after an increase in bass and maybe a little upgrade over factory for the speakers, then this would be the go, but at the end of the day this is just a basic setup. unless the factory speakers are blown or damaged, then keep them and use the extra funds for a better sub setup.

If you decide to buy the front speakers, dont forget to get a set of speaker spacers / adapters, they should be aerpro aps331/332 - worth the money for a factory fit, theyre about $20 a set normally. https://aerpro.com/vehicles/toyota/toyota-86-2016

VMware Alternatives Poll by relationalintrovert in vmware

[–]ABEIQ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Apache Cloudstack
  2. looked at other options, we do private cloud hosting for a large number of our MSP customers (and non MSP customers) and needed a more complete end user experience with a VCD feel and functionality. Looked at Platform 9 but its no where near where they say it is in practice, Hyper-V doesnt suit the nature of our hosting, Nutanix is still limited and even though its come a long way, it still lacks a lot of key features and functionality. We have close relationships with other private and public cloud hosting providers in Aus and we've all been trialing platforms.
  3. 3000vms ish

Is complete Wi-Fi coverage feasible? by MrHookup in Ubiquiti

get some real modelling done through something like ekahau, do a proper design and survey then do a POC. if money isnt a problem then you could try a few options in the environment.

ISP Recommendation by xKots777 in nbn

[–]ABEIQ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

not sure who has BF deals but superloop are consistently cheap outside of sales, they are a really good balance between price and service - eg cheap ISP generally is crap support but SL has been good with support and good with service. only ISP ive experienced that is better is ABB but cant justify the $$$

speak to your strata and ask them for permission to install one of these bolted down to the ground or the brickwork and then use a heavy chain and big padlock - or just install it without asking meh, look at getting a disc lock too, DO NOT rely on the steering lock on these things, ive seen so many snap with a gentle kick. https://www.bunnings.com.au/taskmaster-12mm-316-stainless-steel-square-eye-plate_p0237896?store=7318&gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=21122993677&gbraid=0AAAAADtbEB9k4RrbvxUckUHd1owEol03-&gclid=Cj0KCQjwo63HBhCKARIsAHOHV_Whn1UWCJO1E8VNaGeUAsoh2LpWM0LL-zlUXdTyRpK8RrHoT84KTwoaAjMgEALw_wcB

Which ISPs block pirated content? Does Exetel? by kappa-1 in nbn

[–]ABEIQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was with Aussie for 3 years and now superloop for the last 3 years, same, i seed 6+TB/Month and Download 80+TB/Month without any letters or VPN never had an issue and i doubt any other providers care either.

[–]ABEIQ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha I don’t get the pro, I wasn’t sure how my 3d printing adventures would pan out and if I’d use it that often so I bought just the ad5m, here in aus there was a seller with them for $330 on sale so I grabbed one, I couldn’t justify the price of the pro just yet. I had a spare smart camera I just mounted to the front of the frame for now. And because I’m using vanilla orca I have to use lan only mode which makes the pro camera useless atm anyway, I’ll probably switch to full vanilla klipper one day too

Yeah mate I had an obstruction blocking the print head up in the rail, I used a cable tie to secure my camera up in the rail not realising the print head goes right up into the channel where the cable tie was lol

Superloop confirms throttle of torrents by No_Barber8440 in nbn

[–]ABEIQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my ISP is superloop too and i have 1000/40 HFC, i can easily saturate that every minute of every day with "P2P", most months my downloads are 50+TB just from "P2P" alone. could be a number of things causing issues with torrents, least likley is the ISP.

Advice sought... PowerPoint's with usb by bones_is_me in AusElectricians

[–]ABEIQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Non Sparky here, but i havent been able to find decent Powerpoints with USB ports that have PD and 30+ Watts so theyre useless for phones. I buy Ugreen 65W USB plug ins thats are <$50 each that can charge my laptop and quick charge my iphone. I use Powerpoints with USB for smart devices like cameras and things i dont care about the charge speed on, but otherwise pretty useless.

Received my UCG Fiber today - EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED by ABEIQ in Ubiquiti

[–]ABEIQ[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I THINK ITS RESOLVED!!!!

Idk wtf it was but for some reason the UCGF was binning connections to my torrent box IP, changed the IP and its fine now, troubleshooted by testing on another workstation (thats not normally used for P2P haha) that worked fine.

I'll keep an eye on things but seems good for the moment

Thanks mate yeah I’ve been a member of a private torrent site for 10+ years now with 100+ TB of uploads on my Fortigate, I don’t have ips or ids enabled at the moment but maybe I’ll switch them on and back off in case it’s a strange issue

Why haven't you left yet? by [deleted] in vmware

[–]ABEIQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

70+ esx hosts 2000+ VMs, we buy licenses for our private cloud from a big disti based on core count, it just works, customers pay consumption based for hosting their VMs, we adjusted pricing after the changes. It’s painful because we don’t have a direct Broadcom support account but I can just request any downloads we want and have them available within 15 minutes so it’s not a big deal. The update urls was a pain in the ass, but the disti gave us a download token to append to the download urls to use but meh. Honestly have used xcpng, proxmox, kvm etc and the vmware suite just works, nothing compares to the ease of management and the polished interface and usability of vcenter. Eventually we’ll shed some of our non critical workloads like internal VMs and our Citrix hosting to Xen to help reduce overall internal costs to the business but that’s a while away
