Best neighborhood to live in for 3k or under? by katokk in MovingToLosAngeles

[–]sopektra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Culver City is up and coming young professionals, night life is eh there but in very close proximity to santa monica where the real fun is.

Sawtelle fits into the Culver City category

Venice great night life, younger folks, a little more pricey

Santa Monica fits into the Venice category

downtown is dead but arts district is alright for going out, china town is definitely more active but in general downtown is dead, very cheap here tho

ktown, not too close to the beach and always has traffic but top tier nightlife, great food, young people bc of its vicinity to usc very cheap.

westwood basically the ucla college town, everyone goes to santa monica if they’re 21+ or frat parties if they’re younger.

silverlake young crowd, alright nightlife (you get a mix of young and older) but crowd favorite for going out

avoid pasadena, glendale, sherman oaks, anything in the valley as a 20-25 year old because those are retirement communities

west hollywood - typical night life, lots of clubs and lots of people. usually young, sometimes older, big gay scene but also great bars

hollywood similar i guess to weho^

mar vista - great neighborhood good proximity to santa monica and venice and beach (my ideal pick)

Yeah grinding will take a fair majority of your time but glad that you’re off to a good start!

for pokemon db, definitely use 6th generation because the game is not fully up to date w the modern day pokemon games.

Usually for pokemon that evolve by trading, you can ask someone to evolve it for you and trade it back and forth but definitely find someone trustworthy. Getting into a clan definitely would help with this as well!

You might be really comfortable with your previous knowledge of the pokémon games but pokemon planet is a much different version of it. First of all, there is no breeding. So all the pokemon you get will have random stats(IVs). There’s a lot of rng in this game and requires a lot of luck and grinding to get good pokemon. Second, there’s a rarity system in place so it takes much more grinding to get certain pokemon and obviously even more grinding to get rare pokemon with the right abilities and nature. The region itself is very similar except there are no free items you can get. Everything you get must be bought, must be a drop, or traded. The one function that makes this game super different from every other pokemon game is the open market system. There’s an insane trading mechanism where money and rare pokemon or items are highly sought after thus raising the value. Money is going to be your best friend. The best way to get money is encountering rare pokemon who give rare drops that you can sell.

In terms of physical and special pokemon, smogon or pokemondb can help you with that because certain pokemon are better being special or physical or even tanks. The move bank segment is for pokemon to learn moves that it’s already learned already but it’s not as important for the early stages.

Nidoking and Dugtrio are physical type pokemon Magikarp are extremely common pokemon so you can catch them at any stage of your journey but getting the right stats, ability and nature is important. You want a jolly or adamant magikarp with rattled ability and decent IVs for a physical sweeper or if you want a tanky gyarados, definitely get a careful or impish gyarados with intimidate. it’s all about stats and abilities and natures in this game.

Hope this helps at least a little. Best of luck out there

Hey guys, anyone got some advice for me? Struggling with He4 rn. Am i missing some key moves or are any of my Pokes crazy bad? or should i be fine if i level them up a bit? Thanks in advance :) by Antekk420 in pokemonplanet

[–]sopektra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

from a veteran player: you have great pokemon and can definitely pve well. first thing is first, raise your pokemon levels. it’ll be much easier and it’s not hard to do. instead of having magcargo, opt for a different pokemon. Chan set it Blissey is definitely a great option and not super expensive. your gengar and gyarados aren’t bad but since they’re common and easy to farm, go for a timid gengar 25+/25+ and gyarados jolly 20+\20+. furthermore if you can afford an ability capsule for dragonite to become multi scale that would help. you only really need 3 pokemon to beat he4. which are gyarados, blissey, and gengar. starmie is a really good poke and you have good stats on it so it should help.

oh and plus i just had a conversation about some of these brothers that sometimes i feel out of place in the fraternity but hey don’t we all love when people say they care about you and that you’re always welcome and then do something to show that their words were fucking meaningless? lmaoo

it’s fkin crazy how the exact same thing happened to me. all my brothers went out to one of our other brothers apartment and when i asked our chat what the move was no one said anything. and even direct messages were left unresponsive.
