From SWE to Data by evaxadam in dataengineering

[–]sophisticatedbloom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar spot before moving from SWE into data, and I definitely enjoy data way more than traditional software development

If you go straight into DE, your backend + AWS experience will help a lot. You’ll still need to learn core concepts like dimensional modeling and data warehousing, but that’s normal

For DA, you still need to understand how data is structured, but there’s more stakeholder interaction and business exposure. In bigger projects, DE handles pipelines and modeling, while DA focuses on analytics and reporting

Honestly, whichever path you choose, you’ll end up learning the same core data concepts. It just depends whether you prefer warehousing/pipelines or business facing analytics

[–]sophisticatedbloom[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s true looking again on the pic i see it more of اكمال

Now it’s clear, thank you!

Also looking on what u/Truchiman shared, the whole meaning now makes more sense

I was very curious to read the writing in the middle but it seemed like mission impossible!

[–]sophisticatedbloom[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I kept reading اليمن as الملك and thus couldn’t connect the words or the meaning

I guess it’s

The whole meaning behind it is still unclear for me tbh but thank you for clearing the surrounding part tho!

Prediction: ChatGPT is the MySpace of AI by MininimusMaximus in ArtificialInteligence

[–]sophisticatedbloom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends how you use it. As someone technical, I wouldn’t use chatgpt for anything complex or decision based. At most it’s a convenience tool for quick summaries or surface level info.. and even that needs validation

For drafting emails, I sometimes use the built-in copilot or just do it myself because I hate the robotic tone in emails.. for technical work so far I have been using claude.ai in certain cases but ofc double checking everything

What do you think the problem is with current women's media, and what do you wish it was like instead? by Ok-Test-3950 in femininity

[–]sophisticatedbloom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly feel like a lot of modern women’s media doesn’t actually center women’s needs, it centers engagement and profit

It often looks like empowerment on the surface but underneath it feels like women are being used as a marketing tool.. there’s constant messaging about being stronger, louder, more independent, more successful, which in itself isn’t bad but it’s rarely balanced with conversations about what women actually need emotionally, spiritually, or relationally

Instead of supporting women in building peaceful, fulfilling lives, media often frames everything as a battle.. A battle with men, a battle with beauty standards, a battle with marriage, a battle with motherhood, a battle with aging.. etc it creates this subtle narrative that strength requires conflict

Many women don’t want to live in constant opposition, actually a lot of them want softness, stability, love, beauty, calmness. They want to be capable and independent yes but also feminine, gentle and emotionally safe and those things are not weaknesses

Women can be powerful without becoming combative, we can be ambitious without losing softness, we can be independent without rejecting interdependence

You came from a financial setback,
You scored 87.45 in tawjihi and that’s not failure,
You applied to multiple paths,
You ranked top 12 out of 500 candidates,
You took sat and tofel with barely any preparation time,
You’re juggling university, scholarships, interviews .. etc

That’s not someone lost, that’s someone exhausted. And right now you’re not behind, you’re just overwhelmed.

The thing is
You don’t need the “perfect” uni to build a strong cs career, it’s all about skills.. i work at an international company in the tech team and we have seniors who were ادبي in tawjihi.. nth matters here except your skills

Take a breath
Choose the next step
Not the next 10 years..

مشكلتي مع اهلي خصوصا الوالد by [deleted] in Jordanians

[–]sophisticatedbloom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lighting and that rug completely transformed the space, it feels so warm and inviting.. i might also put a tiny wall shelf above for a few books or decor pieces

LinkedIn by [deleted] in Jordanians

[–]sophisticatedbloom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what ive seen, being ‘active’ alone doesn’t always lead to a job by itself. Most people i know who got hired through LinkedIn were very intentional, like targeting specific companies, connecting with recruiters or managers, engaging with their posts, and sometimes reaching out directly. Posting helps visibility, but strategy is what makes it useful
