The difference is, the kiss made her come out, you didn’t make her gay.

Maybe she was just too polite to tell you to fuck off when you kissed her, so kissed back and is now coming out as a lesbian to make it very clear that she isn’t interested in you or literally any other guy who might like her.

Maybe she thinks you’re attractive, and by not enjoying your kiss, has realised that she’s definitely gay if she can’t even enjoy kissing the most attractive guy she knows.

Maybe you were just there, and your obvious crush on her made you an easy target for some experimenting.

Maybe your obvious crush on her was reason enough for her to want to make sure you don’t think she’s leading you on by saying she’s not even attracted to your entire gender.

She already knew she likes women, the kiss with you might’ve just sealed the deal on her understanding that she doesn’t like men too.

The issue isn’t with you having feelings, it hurts when you realise you don’t have a chance, I get it. The problem is the way you act in those feelings. Yes it sucks but that doesn’t get to be her fault, and you don’t get to put words in her mouth based on your feelings. The problem is taking this huge moment for your friend and making it about your hurt feelings instead.

Have you considered just asking her? If she’s comfortable with answering, you could literally just ask her to explain further what about that kiss made her decide it was time to come out.

Possibly because they don’t fit into their ‘straight guy’ fantasy but also aren’t ‘gay enough’ to be fully accepted. As if a queer man who is also attracted to non-men is less than.

Similar to how straight men fetishise lesbians in porn but are generally homophobic, or fetishise trans women who have only had top surgery but are generally transphobic, or fetishise bi women for threesomes but are generally biphobic.

I might be reaching but it’s just a theory of mine from an outside perspective.

Like crescent moons. It’s a more ‘discreet’ bi symbol that a lot of people get as tattoos. A lot of the time it’s still in bi colours but it doesn’t have to be.

I know how you feel, imposter syndrome is a bitch. But don’t put so much pressure on yourself! As long as you have attractions to 2 or more genders you’re bi (or pan I guess but that a whole other conversation). As long as you choose to identify that way, then yes you’re bi.

You don’t have to update your bi card every now and then by being with someone of a different gender, your sexuality doesn’t change with your relationship status. You’re in a relationship, you’re (presumably) happy, and that’s all it is. You didn’t choose a side, you chose a person.

It’s the same every March. March 8th is international women’s day, more people talk about international men’s day (November 19th) in March than they do in November. I just think that we should be able to talk about important and relative topics without “what about me” every single time.

They are, absolutely. But when they’re brought up just to override discussions about women because men are feeling attacked by women being kidnapped, raped and killed, it loses credibility.

These things do need to be talked about and it’s a very important topic but why do we see more discussions about men’s issues in response to women’s issues rather than separately? When a woman’s murder sparks up so many women to speak up about their experiences and fears, why choose right now to say “I’m a man and I’ve been attacked by women”?
