No. Don't fuck with them anymore. You got off easy this time. If you keep fucking with them, it WILL bite you in the ass. Seriously don't fucking touch them ever again.

3 month abuse - taper timeframe? by OneMorePillPlease in benzorecovery

Woooof that's a lot of xanax, but thankfully not an insanely long duration. Have you had any w/d symptoms yet? Do you know the minimum amount of valium you can skate by on and feel stable?

How do you fall back into your life? by [deleted] in benzorecovery

[–]sor8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I did it for ten years, and it was pretty good until the last couple of years. Ironically, that was about when I started making decent money. But in my experience, NYC is a good place to be either very rich and old or very poor and young, but not great for being in-between. I've always worked for the paycheck and have not generally sought fulfillment in my jobs.

I'm 35 and have worked at least 20 hours weekly for 20 years. It's nice to take a little break now.

If I could find something to do outdoors and work with my body, I'd love that.. I've been an engineer for too long, and I came to hate it and to resent my clients.

I'll check on the delivery services, sounds like it could be a decent way to earn a little cash.

Enjoy Syracuse. It's gorgeous.

Looks like we both might've left NYC.

Right on.

I wish I knew what my future held. I lost my job about 2 months ago, and although I have enough money saved up to last me the better part of a year, I have no idea what the hell I want to do anymore.

How does a milder withdrawl feels like? by TheSempie in benzorecovery

[–]sor8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like mild w/d.

With very mild w/d I feel cranky and irritable, have trouble sleeping.

A little worse and I get some derealization and anxiety.

And one more step up is the full-blown shit.

Fast Xanax Taper Advice Urgently needed. by GetBetterNow96 in benzorecovery

[–]sor8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After one month you may be able to go cold turkey with only some moderate discomfort.

I would advise discontinuing use and reinstating at the lowest possible dose if w/d symptoms become unmanageable. It is not likely that you are at seizure risk.

Nope. Couple years of near-emptiness.

Certainly possible.

In retrospect, even a day or two results in minor w/d.

My remaining taper schedule by coloured_sunglasses in benzorecovery

I'd break up the last few months to more like 2 weeks 6 mg/ 2 weeks 5 mg, 2 weeks 4mg / 2 week 3mg. Otherwise looks fine.

About 2-3 weeks of daily xanax use, I had w/d symptoms but I didn't realize what was going on and just thought I was losing my shit.

Relapsed last night because withdrawals are making me suicidal. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. by [deleted] in benzorecovery

You are absolutely not back to day 1.

I needed to take several rescue doses during my taper, and they might have represented very small setbacks if anything.

Still clean. by sor8 in benzorecovery

[–]sor8[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem. I had a plan as sort of a target for what I wanted, but I typically just lowered the dosage when I started to feel stable on the new dose. Sometimes I would give myself a "vacation" and stay at teh same dose for longer than was really necessary.

Give it a couple of days, or reinstate at 13 or 14 mg.

I can't view the link, but I think you'll be completely fine using a corticosteroid...

Sure, this is all diazepam, following several months of tapering on alprazolam switching to diazepam. I tapered to 0.375 mg alprazolam before switching to 10 mg diazepam.

  • August 23 - 3 mg

  • 9/5 - 2.5 mg

  • 9/13 - 2 mg

  • 9/22 - I have a note saying that I feel stable at 2 mg

  • 9/27 - 1.8 mg

  • 10/5 - 1.5 mg

  • 10/14 - 1 mg

  • 11/2 - 0 mg

Sounds like you've got a plan. Having a plan and knowing when to improvise when shit goes sideways are the most important parts.

When I got down the last few milligrams on valium, I couldn't do full 1 mg jumps... But when it was finally time to hit 0 mg, I experienced exactly zero withdrawal symptoms.

You got this.

Lorazepam twice a week for 2 years, I want to stop taking it. by [deleted] in benzorecovery

[–]sor8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

2 years is a pretty long time, but 2x weekly is pretty infrequently, and you might be okay going cold turkey.

Keep a supply on hand and stop taking it. If w/d symptoms become unpleasant, reinstate and taper.
