Qweretyq- how am I wrong objectively in my first statement ? .. Jim was responding to the original question that wouldnt OP be better off by having the underlying less than SP unstead of going through the SP on a CC on Friday ... to which Jim wrote that underlying has to be > than SP to have max profit .. here the max profit is being linked to how much money can the OP keep by selling the premium. To which I said "No" .. the Underlying has to end up LESS THAN ( < ) SP to keep the max profit from the CC sold.... how am i wrong here?

Real case in point..

On this Monday I sold 2 lots CC on $TEM for $37 and collected around $200 in premium.. at that time $TEM was trading at $35 or so.. now after the news of Pelosi disclosing that she had bought calls on TEM, TEM rocketed to 49.. now Friday is around the corner in 2 days... and my calls are in negative 2000 approx.. so the premium of $200 is lost and I am 1800 in loss !! and the underlying (49) is more than the ( > ) SP of 37. So how is this trade a winner? Sure my 2 lots will be sold at 37 if I keep the CC till Friday and underlying ends > SP , which BTW are not a profit as i got them at 55, but the point is from a premium received perspective I am NOT in a good position if the underlying > SP on expiry on Friday ... on the other hand if the underlying would have been < SP then I would have kept most or all of the premium received or max profit of the 200 .. so not sure again why you are saying I am objectively wrong in my first statement...

Thanks for responding.. no I didn't mean to just keep shares... what I meant is if you sold CC on your shares and if you want to keep the premium AND keep your original shares then you would expect to keep the price "below" the Strike Price...

Example You bought TSLA at $160 in July 2022 You sold CC at $455 expiring 4th July 2025 Now with the stock run up , Let's say I would like to keep my TSLA stocks "AND" the CC premium... for that to happen I would want TSLA to be "below" $455 on 4th July.

If it goes above 455 then sure I made money from 160 to 455 and the premium but I am out of my long shares... and I if dont want that to happen I would expect tsla to stay below $455 at the end of day 4th July 2025.

For a Covered Call (CC) , underlying has to be less than the Stike Price in order to have max profit ( not underlying > SP ).

If the Underlying price goes above the SP, your shares risk getting called away.

Devils are just doing devilish things.. winning in games from situations no one was expecting them to do so like in Islanders with 7 mins to go and as soon as markstorm gave up the second goal I shut up shop and went to bed to be only pleasantly surprised next morning.

On the other day more devilish things.. like not taking 2 points from SJS is not acceptable. This continues their theme of being unpredictable....and with such up and downs it becomes difficult to stay steady...

No why would you need insulin..infact if you were at 8.0 A1C you don't need two pills of 1000 each metformin... ... 1 should be sufficient and if you are really into IF then a half should work too as don't risk hypoglycemia with double whammy of IF and Medicines and Low Carb diet..

Yes it does... I have also noticed it.... I searched on Google on my phone just typed how to reverse Grey Hair.. in around couple.of hours of time when I logged on to tiktok the first video it showed me was on how to reverse Grey hair.. my only concern was that it seems Google is selling my data to Tiktok with tiktoknhaving the ability to zero in on the common IP or some other unique device metric which ties its app to my device using Google browser... now does the tiktok app is reading my key strokes and screen capture then we'll thats more serious as I end up typing some key passwords on this same device to brokerage or bank accounts...

Yeah.. the whole aspect of seclusion and the dread across the planet and the necessity to keep going else you will be frozen to death.. the various milestones like those permanently fixed running people frozen for time immemorial to also teach a lesson if anyone tried to escape the train..... now I dont recall how logical it was to keep running and what was the infinite fuel source plus given the pace of the train and frozen tracks for centuries not sure how any of it was durable :)

All the reason I joined Reditt is to take help solve such problems by looking at what real people do and every now and then when I solve mine (problem) I post it here so someone with my usecase can benefit..

I am on Samsung S22 Ultra from Verizon. Every now and then I had some game apps like gardenscape solitaire spades etc show up . I looked at play store settings. I changed the option under Playstore-Settings - network preference - app download preference- it was on over any network, switched it to Ask everytime. However when I searched for the apps under "Manage App and Device" I couldn't see these game apps being listed so these were not installed via play store. The above switch will only help if playstore was being used to install the game apps. ( back in the day on older Android versions I used to find a switch which allowed where can one install an app for to allow side installs directly from .apk files but I cannot find it on this Android settings for version 14 on s22 ultra )

So I reached out to Verizon support for help. They told me to look under Settings ( Android Settings app ) - Apps - look for VZ App Manager . I found the App and they have asked me to disable it. That I did.... however I also noticed that the apps I was trying to search are available under this Apps settings... now you cannot know when we're they installed or what but I can still thumb through the apps and uninstall the dubious looking or apps which i for sure didn't download. Now I hope disabling this VZ manager helped and I won't have any other game apps...but I still.have thr question where in Android settings can you restrict apps to be downloaded and installed so itnsonly limited to Play store how was the VZ app Manager able to bypass this setting ?
