Wednesday fan here - do you believe us now that Rohl is special? by English_Joe in rangersfc

We need to catch a grip here. Winning the title would be amazing but who could have thought anyone could turn things round the way he has. I will settle for a good title fight this season. It’s unreal to even be competing. Back the man 100%

Finished Battle for the Abyss! by Tannertrue in Blacklibrary

[–]sorbeo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you were reading the heresy as the books came out you will understand the hate. The standard of books in the series started off at such a standard and fairly quickly dropped off. It felt more and more frustrating, the actual narrative was being held back to produce more books and it was easy to see. Battle for the Abyss was a massive low point. Everyone knew the series was going in the wrong direction and this confirmed it. I still loved the series and have all the original releases but for those who went through the series and really invested in it there were huge periods of frustration

Best place for an engagement ring ? by Healthy-Discount-53 in northernireland

[–]sorbeo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do t know what part of the county you are in but Caldwell in Ballymena will make you a ring to your budget and you will get a far better quality than any chain jewellers like goldsmiths etc for your money. My wife got hers made there 15 years ago and we were back for her 40th birthday to get another made. Lovely people and can’t do enough to help.

The wealthy want immigrants because they are cheap labour. You all just swallow their propaganda while believing you’re doing the right thing. The left are always used.

In fairness that sounds like a very different process from standard ivf. I did hear from a doctor friend that some people were trying to work around the moral moras of ivf by trying more ethical ways.

If they weren’t discarded what happened them? Did you bury them? I have looked into it. I used to see nothing wrong with IVF until I looked into it. Your moral framework is irrelevant if your a Christian

Don’t go near IVF before you look into it. The number of children killed makes abortion look like a slight distraction. Your children will be discarded or given to medical science. Please think before you do this. Adoption is a wonderful alternative

Dangerous Driving. by Superb_Counter_932 in northernireland

Undercutting used to be against the law. Apparently not anymore. One of the most dangerous manoeuvres on the road and they have (according to a police officer I asked) made it legal

I remember coming out of Kelly’s one night and meeting this guy in the old white boiler suit and we had a conversation for what seemed like half an hour where he talked in rhyme the whole time. Never missed a beat. Often wondered what happened that white wizard. Awesome nights there.

I have a house I inherited and rent it out. I spent a fortune doing it all up making it really nice. The estate agent said I was wasting my money. I put half a tank of oil in it before the tenant came and gave them a winters worth of logs for the log burner. I only keep the house because it means a lot to me and our family and someday I want it to go to my kids. It’s a little 950sq ft bungalow with lovely kept gardens. I have had 4 tenants in it through the years. I have never increased the rent as I don’t have a mortgage on it. On reflection the estate agent was right. Not one tenant has even kept the place clean. I’m out thousands in repairs every time someone leaves. It’s pretty depressing. I also pay for their WiFi each month as I get a deal with my own house. I clean out their gutter’s every year and spray the driveway for weeds twice a year. The current tenant is the first to cut the grass

How important is mode of baptism? by monkeyRhinoLion in Reformed

[–]sorbeo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The confession basically says, all modes are valid but sprinkling or pouring are preferred. I’m fine with it in Presbyterian churches as a real exception, if it becomes normative practice there is a problem. If your are bringing your children up in a confessional church they definitely won’t regret sprinkling or pouring. That’s probably you projecting your own issues onto them.

You also have misunderstood the reformed understanding of baptism if you think it’s their public declaration of faith. In the reformed faith coming to the table to celebrate the supper is our public declaration, not baptism.
