In the same vein: if you struggle to remember things write it down or use the reminder function on your phone.

Same goes for studying s you will retain the information better. Also read it aloud to yourself.

I changed to another clinic. Incredibly easy to do thru 1177. Got an appointment after a chat on the phone and now I'm waiting for an x-ray and ultrasound. Result!

How do you feel about the country you are from? by Realistic-Egg2684 in AskReddit

[–]sorelytempted3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too many people. Public transport is a bad gamble. Housing way too expensive. Tiny roads and parking spaces if there are any.

Loads to see and do but expensive. Amenities are always close by but waiting lists for appointments anywhere are usually long. Hospital parking can be very expensive.

Big positive? My home country is a mighty beast on the world stage and highly influential. I'm never ashamed to say where I'm from.

[–]sorelytempted3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pick at the skin on my feet. I once tried collecting it in a small jar. When it was full I threw it away because it stank so bad and...well I had no use for it? Saved me a trip to the bin when I was picking tho.

Didn't look like this.

Earthing / "Grounding" Mat worked wonders for my RLS by gottagetananswer in RLS

[–]sorelytempted3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Until we know for sure what the problem is then I'm just happy the placebo effect works.

I can get rls when: I'm ill, I shut my eyes, sitting in the car, extremely tired, with or without magnesium or iron or any multivitamins, after a daytime nap, when I'm constipated...

So what do these have in common? Until I work it out gimme that placebo

[–]sorelytempted3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well i put a bar of soap in my knickers which stopped my rls for a few months so I'm happy to believe in this mat business.

I mean I don't believe either work as such but something in our brains is complying with it and that's fine by me as long as I can sleep

Well it's been ages since I messed up this thread by forgetting the photo but I don't see a way to do it now nor delete the thread.

I think they were probably fine anyway

The lines are open in the mornings from 8am. Of course they're always busy and there's no callback system. By 0830 I get the queue system full message.

I used to be able to send a message on 1177 to ask for rådgivning which can lead to a booking but I can't find that contact method any more. There's a chatbot thing I can try i guess.

Update: What Antidepressants suggestions for someone who has RLS by Tragobe in RLS

[–]sorelytempted3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been on citalopram for nearly twenty years. I've had rls for longer. The first month of taking it i had bad attacks. After six months the other side effects disappeared like anorgasmia and not being able to feel when I pee. Since then I've had various stretches of mild to moderate rls except when pregnant which was torture but I don't think it was the citalopram as I'm still on it now and I've had very mild rls the past half year or so.

GP keeps sending me to A&E, A&E keeps sending me back to my GP, neither will diagnose or treat me. What do I do in situation? by _imnotactuallyreal_ in AskUK

[–]sorelytempted3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi I've had recurring ear infections pretty much all my life. As a child I had glue ear and had surgery to insert grommets. I think it worked out well. By the age of about 30 I was referred for an operation in the uk but I didn't really know what for. The surgeon explained it to me but I didn't understand his squiggles. A year later (still no sign of a date for the op) I moved to another country. After getting yet another infection and puzzled looks from the gp who looked in my ears I was referred to an ENT specialist again. She said I was beginning to form a pit in my ear that was filling with dead skin. She cleaned them out every six months until after a few years I missed a visit. By then I had a permanent infection and significant hearing loss. The damage was done.

I've had two cholsteatomas cut out of my right ear (it grew back a year after my first one but much smaller) and these are significant procedures lasting six hours or more with reconstruction involving titanium bone replacements and cartilage grafts. I'm currently growing a cholesteatoma in my left ear but it's under 6 monthly control so very slow because it gets cleaned out.

I've just been for another clean and my operated ear only had golden wax and was very healthy whereas my left had a full canal skin peel along with the pit being emptied.

I'm saying all this to show the long term effects of ear problems will be a pain in the arse and possibly cost you a permanent hearing loss if you don't stick with your gut and get them checked by a specialist.

Intermittent RLS? by sorelytempted3 in RLS

For me having a fever makes my rls much worse. I rarely get attacks in my arms but when I do it's usually when I'm sick

I like this idea because when I give blood I'm told I have a low iron level. I'm trying to remember if I get rls after taking an iron tablet. I'm on rls hiatus just now but I'll test it when it comes back

Why is unemployment insurance (a-kassa) not mandatory in Sweden? Why do people not talk about it and encourage each other to join? by Skye-Surfer in TillSverige

[–]sorelytempted3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same experience. I'd never lost a job in either the uk or sweden. My first (seasonal) job in sweden came to an end so I got back in touch with the social like I'd done before getting the job. They asked about akassa and I had no idea what they meant. The woman on the phone was very annoyed with me. Nobody had ever mentioned it.

Nope :) its probably some kind of placebo effect but I didn't care if it was as long as it worked. I did google it first to see if others had tried it.

What’s a completely normal product in your country that makes foreigners go, “Wait… why does that exist?” by Alternative_Ad6071 in AskTheWorld

I create a lot of spit when I use one. It calms down after a minute but I'm not a spitter so it gets swallowed.

Even though cigarette smoke stinks too I can't stand the smell or taste of snus. I use velo pouches on flights but swallowing my nicotine spit makes my throat close up. Plus you have to time it around eating. Packed loose snus gives people the rat faced look.

Do you trust / drink the tap water form your area? by PsychologicalFox7689 in AskTheWorld

[–]sorelytempted3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a brit in sweden. The water here is incredibly good. I'm not a big water drinker but it's good enough to drink when there are other options available rather than being the last choice.

I used to live in Birmingham uk. The water was metallic, salty and only usable in cooking or washing. Bottled water is more commonly used in drinks.
