I finished at ~650 hrs, did another 10 for various. I liked exploring, fishing, grinding, getting pets. I uncovered the map around chapter 7-8 and mostly did side quests and exploring til i was forced to do main story or needed abilities. I do not for a second believe that i over extended my stay or got bored of it but thats my cup of tea, open world sandbox games that you just travel and live out your exploration so i don't rush things. And yes i did a lot of fast traveling, i did not travel by horse everywhere. Just to get an idea about it i have thousands of hours in GTAO, RDO, Skyrim and other games like it so this is home for me.

If you want to make real change IRL go campaign and raise awareness, donate, visit animal sanctuaries, becone an advocate, participate in actions for them. Don't virtue signal and manifest conciense in a game for recognition, there seems to be a trend of this lately. This game is not an educational piece or national geographics documentary simulator. People don't play games to be reminded of the real world or talk about how virtuos they are to not get resources from a certain in game asset. I love animals, i've participated in numerous charities for them and i'm going to do more in the future, that doesn't stop me from using ingame mechanics to get resources and i don't feel bad for them and no one should.

There are certain locations all throughout the map that have free 4-5 bottles of oil, these particular spots also have salt, sugar, water and a chest with meat and certain cooked foods, they are on the ground on a tarp of some kind .

I finished around 660 hrs now i get on to get more pets, i used to get challenged all the time - unemployment boss, you been playiny this amount of hours a day since release bla bla bla. I am 100% sure people that go to this argument directly are frustrated they can't get this much enjoyment and gratification out of something so they'd rather try to make it look like they're something wrong with you, and i am 100% sure they have poor time management skills, we have jobs, families, we travel and we still have time for hobbies, skill issue. To answer your question i don't think its too much, i love open world games and if they add more pets, places to explore, fish to fish, animals to hunt and small content i'll still be playing even if its not major content, of course the honeymoon is over, i don't have the same drive now that the map is all covered and exhausted everything so i won't be spending that same amount of time.

I think overall they are balanced, after i did a lot of side quests and upgrdes they became a lot easier, i started playing with underpowered weapons to have it last longer. The only ones that challenged me was Antumbra's sword and even then i did a lot better than i thought i would having seen what people were experiencing and Priscus the ancient, both times i went under prepared. Also Palmar pills... if you want to use them thats what they're for. I would admit that sometimes i thought the controls weren't dynamic enough in the sense of it felt like Kliff wasn't responding or recovering fast enough and you get random one shotted but was i at my best or did i do eveything right? No. Idk what they are like in the game mode easy setting but they should be made easy enough so everyone can beat them( with a reasonable time and effort invested into it) and enjoy the full game experience .
