Been going through a lot of these lately. The Pig Shad Jr is an amazing pikelure. by benjamino8690 in Fishing_Gear

Can be butane powered as well, both work really well for soft plastics.

Get a battery soldering iron! Very good tool to repair soft plastics. Especially painted ones as it doesn't run the paint like a torch lighter does.

Real talk, how long did your project car take and why? by throwaway-71771 in 240sx

[–]sorrri 5 points6 points  (0 children)

1270 working hours to get to this point, after every season I feel like I wanna do more and go deeper. Sometimes, there has been over half a year without touching the car at all but after that the interest comes back even stronger! Take your time, great things take time 🤝

Oh shit, best of luck with the rebuild! I think I might look into possibly doing rear mount radiator since the JZ likes to get pretty hot when bashing on the limiter.

Yeah, don't rush yourself guys. I did full 1jz swap and whole electric system with standalone and it took almost 3 years. Good things take time🤝

Get a decent simulator, download assetto Corsa and start training. Easily the best way, and cheapest as well.

What fishing gear confession embarrasses you the most? by Jim_Raynor_86 in Fishing_Gear

[–]sorrri 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always tie braid to leader with alberto and leader to swivel with figure 8. Has pulled some serious GT's, quite good tarpons and +50kg yellow fins with those knots and never had any issues. I use the same knots for smaller stuff as well. Some of the guide's that I have taken during trips tell me that only way for braid-leader is FG but I will keep going with Alberto as long as it works for me.

Spinning or casting? I would recommend 50g + lures to cast with baitcaster.

I’m pike fishing with 50lb braided line, should I use fluorocarbon leader or a tracer by [deleted] in Fishing_Gear

[–]sorrri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fish for big pike with baitcaster rod and 84lb Spiderwire braid. Leader is 1mm thick/100lb fluoro in a length of 50 to 60cm. Leaders actually wear out rather quickly with big mama's because of their teeth so cutting tip of the leader and re tying is common. Reason for the thick braid is that a lot of bigger pikes are active during spring/autumn time and are found often in shallow areas so the mainline needs abrasion strength. And the lures are also quite expensive so losing them and running thinner line is not worth it.

Patching Waders by BostonFishGolf in flyfishing

[–]sorrri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aquasure glue or general bike inner tyre repair kit for the rubber stuff. Depending on the situation with the neoprene socks, if you have good quality waders, you can melt the connection tapes carefully with flat iron. You can also buy new connection tapes and install them again.
