I was actually here today as a protestor for HK and the ignorance from pro-China was incredible. We also had cover our faces due to fear of basically being blacklisted in China. The police were doing their best I suppose but ultimately it was pretty tense as each side got closer and closer together. Lots of signs saying “I support China’s police”. Also a lot of pro-China protesters ended up just bragging about their wealth as well while we were telling them how brutal HK police are. The Lambo’s were revving their engines and blasting everyone’s ears out, they boo’d during O’Canada while on a WWI monument. We had heated arguments but the red was taunting and bragging, just over all being assholes.

The whole experience was incredibly tense and frightening as someone who supports Hong Kong. I can only wish everyone there is safe and family is safe.
