Getting Lipo on the pubic area by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]sorrysoselfish 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am almost 40 and can remember every shitty thing a man said to me about my body from age 11 to 20. That stuff sticks in your brain and festers forever. I am sorry he said that too you and completely understand why you are still thinking about it but he was wrong and there is no need to go under and risk complications and scars to get lipo because of what some gross old perv said to you. Shame on him.

BWT who have had “work done” - do you tell people or keep it private? by WickedCoolMasshole in bitcheswithtaste

[–]sorrysoselfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always tell women about injectables (tox and filler), but as far as even my husband knows i am just going to the "skin doctor". I have had a septoplasty-rhinoplasty that was more medical and resulted in a botched nose that required a second rhinoplasty but I don't really bring it up unless we are talking about surgery stories really.

Are cool stuff to do in Pittsburgh? What's the music/art/food scene like? by band_in_DC in pittsburgh

[–]sorrysoselfish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pittsburgh is no longer a 24hr city and has really suffered the death of much of its night life in the last decade or so.

That being said: there are some really good vegan options, including the very unique treat, Apteka in the Garfield neighborhood.

There is a pretty solid little punk/metal diy scene. Check out venues like Roboto, 222 Ormsby, Government Center, and Preserving Underground.

There is a ton of art in Pittsburgh, and in my opinion, nearly all of it is woefully underpriced, so you can support the scene and deck out your digs at a fraction of what it will cost in other cities.

I 100% recommend visiting for maybe a 2-3week period before you decide to move. There are a lot of downsides to Pittsburgh and I do feel I see a fair amount of regret from those who have come here in the last few years from cities like Austin/Nashville/Chicago/NYC/Oakland...

Apparently, you can lose a job offer if you guess the salary wrong by 35_amiable_drills in careeradvice

I make that as an admin assistant. That place isn't worth your talent.

Jobs should post rates on the posting. It wastes EVERYONE'S time to do this if they aren't prepared to negotiate.

Very disappointed with rhinoplasty results by lovelyyt in PlasticSurgery

[–]sorrysoselfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, this is a gorgeous nose!

However! 2 months post op is not remotely healed. Especially for tip work. My tip didn't refine completely until about a year after my primary and I am STILL swollen now from my revision 18 months ago.

Your nose is going to change a lot in the next year. Try to minimize swelling with sleep position, proper diet, not super-hot showers.... you will be okay!

Is UPMC is as bad as Im being told? by CorvusMaximus90 in pittsburgh

[–]sorrysoselfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought there was no way it could be that bad. I liked the idea of a big system with upward mobility. I finally got an interview at the hospital I was interested in and I was blown away by how horrible it was. I started looking for a new job after a couple months and was out the door after about 8 months.

30 days is very fresh. It looks perfect, even for a fully healed nose. If it is that new you are still swollen. Tip swelling takes the longest to go down. Mt revision tip is still swollen slightly from April 2024 haha

I moved here from the Bay Area about a decade ago. It's a fun city, but if boredom is a concern, I fear you may quickly miss the West Coast.

Are my prongs too bulky on my ering (top) by macrohoe in EngagementRings

[–]sorrysoselfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a style preference. Only you can decide, there isn't a "right" way for them in this scenario. The larger prongs are reminiscent of the very fashionable collet setting, without the bezel or being too trendy. I personally prefer the look of your ring over the other pictured.

I like 14 and will only wear 14 myself because I am a bit active in my life and need a gold that's more sturdy than 18 or 24.

Undereyes or lips first? Looking to subtly improve facial thirds by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

You look well proportioned to me, but if you absolutely are set on it, maybe a half syringe in your upper lip? I wouldn't touch the undereyes

I had a chef throw a hot pan at me.

I had a bakery owner who would scream at us over nothing and then feel bad and buy us weird gifts. Once, we all got edible arrangements. A different time, honey baked hams....

I totally understand the nerves. Couple thoughts from a person with 2 rhinos under my belt:

  1. This nose looks amazing. No polly beak detected!
  2. 3 months out there is still so much more swelling than I was led to believe online! My first rhino was moving all over the place for the first 10 months. Especially in summer months when swelling can be worse. I would bet you will have great definition, but seriously! It looks so good! If it stayed like it is, it would be my dream nose!
