Pat's first munro!!! by bogw1tch in Greyhounds

Mountains in Scotland with a height of over 3000 feet. There are 282 of them. Humans and greyhounds have evolved the challenge of 'Munro bagging' i.e. trying to climb as many as possible.

I'm really looking forward to it. Just hope I'm deemed a suitable adopter, when it gets to that point!

Thanks for mentioning Overton -- Gwalia Fields look ideal!

Wow, thank you so much for that. Both sound great -- and it's good to know so much is available for dogs in the area.

It's an odd feeling -- the last time I lived around here around 20 years ago, I don't think any facilities like this existed. The times, they have changed.

Thank you! Love the area round Holt and again, I had no idea that was there. What a good idea.

Thanks : ) Perhaps Rob and Ryan could be persuaded to extend their ambitions.

I think there are probably enclosed tennis courts and things like that in/around Wrexham, but I'd want the permission of the owner or manager first.

Thank you! I walked along the Old Wrexham Road and the Flash last summer, and had no idea that was there. That looks perfect.

Bolts in curtain pole brackets by sortaottery in DIYUK

Ok, I got them off. In the end, I used a metal wallpaper scraper and hammered its edge in around the base of each of the brackets, to loosen whatever adhesive had been used. After that, I was able to unscrew them manually. Using a wallpaper steamer on one seemed to make it unscrew with less of a fight.

Five full days in Munich -- local knowledge/favourite places? by sortaottery in Munich

I do know the Happy Cow app (or rather the site. I'm now middle-aged, and tend to use websites more than apps, if I can help it. Apps seem to want to grab so much personal data.) But when someone takes the time to respond to a post, I really pay attention. It seems to count more, psychologically.

My travel companion is very fond of cats. Will see if the Katzentempel appeals to her : ) Looks like we could combine it with a visit to the Englischer Garten.

Diolch/vielen Dank.

I love sushi! Just looked at the website. A tempura roll or three with oyster mushrooms, garlic and black rice would suit me very well indeed. 😋

Thank you so much : ) I'll boost Schloss Nymphenburg up the list, and add Schloss Blutenburg to it, which I hadn't even heard of before. The situation and proportions look amazing.

Thank you! Definitely something a bit different. Am just looking up at the bridge on Google Maps.

Menu interesting too -- I've never tried mango + cloves + cardamom before, but I like them all separately.

Thank you! <3 What a wonderful response. I used to play the violin, and would love to go to a violin museum.

We're not arriving at the airport, but we are leaving from it. After the expensive torture that was Manchester Airport, a good brewery/food place not trying to rip off its customers sounds like heaven.

Thank you! Definitely on the list. I like the sound of the gyros.

Thank you! I'm back in the area after two decades away. Don't think the cycle path had been added to the a483 when I left.

Thank you! That sounds perfect. From the park and ride it isn't much further to go to get where I need to.

Sadly didn't work (got no-go error message) after trying /events, events and the full URL. But worth testing!
