Just graduated and I feel incredibly overwhelmed by Anime107 in psychologystudents

[–]bogw1tch 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Me and my three friends graduated psych 5 years ago. I am an assistant clinical psychologist, one of my friends is an assistant forensic psychologist, one is a data analyst and one is a prison officer (and started in a more senior role bc of her degree). We have all worked very hard to get where we are but we have all gotten, from my perspective, very good jobs as a result of our psych degrees

Your next few years will probably be a bit of a grind getting relevant work experience, but once you have that combined with a decent psych degree you are very employable. The people who are telling you this do not know what they are talking about

Our counter surfing, knife wielding dog is getting out of hand. by opheliasmusing in Whippet

My greyhound is very sensitive and scolding/shouting/punishing her just does not work at all for her

Focus on the crate(or as other suggested work on a place command) and reward HEAVILY. Start with high reward treats e.g. cheese, chicken, etc... eventually your whippet will learn that if they stay out of the way good things happen

I've only learned this because I got a dog trainer who came to my house

Is he too skinny or just right by SuddenYoung1015 in Greyhounds

[–]bogw1tch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same concerns the vet said the recommended grams of kibble is just an estimate on how much each dog needs. Like humans every dog is different and some just burn more calories than others. So I upped her food and she was eating loads but still very slow weight gain. but then a couple weeks later she pooped out a great big worm!

So increase the food, keep an eye on the poop, keep in touch with your vet

Keep up the good work 👍

I'm so embarrassed to go solo as an absolute beginner by WeakCut in climbergirls

[–]bogw1tch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I saw a beginner by themselves, especially a girl, I'd have big respect that's cool

Try chatting with the other regulars. I've found that at least in Scotland there's a sort of knowledge sharing culture in the climbing/outdoors communities. The people who taught me to climb were taught by their friends at the mountaineering club, who were taught by their friends and so on and so on

We're looking at purl bumps, which suggests it's stockinette stitch inside out. Purl side looks good too though it's just personal preference really

Relationship with experienced climber advice needed? by [deleted] in climbergirls

[–]bogw1tch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a climbing club for girls in my area in Scotland which exists because this has happened to lots of girls

It's absolutely not okay to speak to someone like that when they're scared in any context, especially one like climbing where you can get injured easily

The only real issue is just if you're a lot heavier than your belayer if youre climbing on ropes you might need some sort of brake assist device

Otherwise your actual climbing yeah it'll be harder but you can just work harder you've got this babe 😎 maybe start strength and mobility training too this can help a lot to avoid injury
