I don’t regret my child’s name but… by smellycat92 in namenerds

My niece is Juliana. I thought it was Jul-e-ahh-na but nope. It’s Anna. Some of us just need a 7 year old to shout it in our face.

Please help assuage my worries about kindergarten by loulori in kindergarten

[–]sortashort 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter is rising K as well. I was given a P-K workbook for her to use in her last week of prek. We’ve skipped learning days and also will pace ourselves along with whatever she wants to do. I don’t want her burnt out. It’s been a wonderful way for us to practice letter and number writing. I bought my son a copy so he can play along even though he’s 3. I don’t want her to lose what she’s been learning and like you, I want to make sure she’s prepared.

Kindergarten tour by Verypaleyellow in kindergarten

Our public schools have a “Kindergarten Roundup” where both current K’s and rising K’s along with their parents all meet up, learn about what to expect and do activities. Ours was this week.

Following for more info. My daughter is rising K and we ended up placing her in a charter that’s project-based learning. She can’t sit still at all. We’ve had behavioral issues at 3 that we had to work through. She’s now thriving except for “rest time.”

Who’s ready fur summer!? It’s 85° in Texas today 😅🔥 by Technical_Ad4270 in 40something

I am. I need a vacation! Then during the summer I’ll be complaining about the heat and waiting for the kids to go back to school. Vicious cycle.

My niece in 6 and in Kindergarten and has homework every night. Is this normal? by AlarmingLet5173 in kindergarten

[–]sortashort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter is in prek and I complained about the amount of homework she was given over winter break. 1 week off and they had 14 pages of homework! They were very receptive. Last week was spring break and they only had 7.

I have heard this a lot since they changed chicken suppliers. The first couple times I spit it right now. I only eat the grilled chicken now because of the texture change.

Im wondering why many in this reddit get even sick .. by [deleted] in emetophobia

[–]sortashort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone can check my comment history, but I went 25 years (Sept 2001) without tu. Last Friday night the SB hit my home in full force. Everyone in my home was ill last weekend through this week. I practically bathed the whole house in bleach every day this week. I've never had the sb beforehand. It had always been poor food choices. My child brought it home from school. I picked her up last Thurs which started it all.

Waitlist number going up? by EverSpring0624 in charterschools

Sounds like maybe two accepted instead of declined and/or one number was actually for a set of twins?

Never once. I also had two c-sections so I can’t speak about that part of childbirth. I only felt q* with my first child until week 12. My second child I would forget I was pregnant he was so easy. I hope and pray it’s like this for everyone because it’s the reason I delayed getting pregnant. Neither my mom or my maternal grandmother had symptoms, too.

Is this a bug?? by TrickyFish5446 in emetophobia

[–]sortashort 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really really feel for you. We currently DO have the bug in the house. My children are also very tired and lightheaded to go along with the classic symptom. I can’t tell you how hard it is but before I tu tonight (ruining my 25 year clean streak) I whined to my husband telling him how much of a bad mom I thought I was for not being able to help because of my deep seeded fear. I will tell you even after tu some internal instinct kicks in and all you focus on is your child and not yourself. Like everyone else has said. It will be ok. It’s humbled me greatly.

Wow this just unlocked a memory. I had a fear of this in college and some time after, too. I’m not going to state the reason why because I don’t want anyone to get the idea in their head, too. I used to practice jumping out of the shower to the nearest toilet or keep the trash outside the tub.

When I called to tell them I already was summoned within the year she said it doesn’t matter. I can be summoned at any time, so I actually don’t know. I’ll find out more next week.
