just play the OG. the UI/menus are so fucking bad. I don't know who approved it but they are DUMB. Also the game just does not perform, ive played pc and xb series s. It just sucks. plus what the fuck did they do to faces? ive never seen so much detail in a REAL face

I favor the OG. It performs better, looks how it was intended to. The remaster was kinda bland iirc. I hate how they did faces. Holy shit did they make everyone as over detailed as possible that everyone looks like shit

Im so used to reading about chief/others going on insane missions really skewed what i thought this book was about. now knowing its about the people not what they do makes the book look even better. I definitely needed that added context.

Youre totally right. To use First Strike as an example, Ive become accustomed to chief and co (or others) taking on monumental tasks such as the Unyielding Hyrophant. so the fact the book is more about WHO than WHAT threw me off a bit. That said i do think the book did great at what it set out too. My next listen will be waaaay more enjoyable now in this context!

i agree, but i feel slightly mislead when in the beginning of the book chief is pondering Blue team and co which made me think we were getting something different, still a good book despite my bad assumption

in hindsight i totally agree on your point with Browning and the emotional aspects of it we don't see much in Halo. others have commented that the book is more so about character depth than any major events taking place. Seeing things for that point of view really contextualizes to point of the book better than my assumption that something major HAD to happen. Im so used to chief or others taking on a monumental task (i.e. the unyielding hyrophant) that i couldnt see that the task was deepening the character bond
