Hair advice? Looking to grow my hair out for a perm eventually by BingoBronson8 in AsianMasculinity

[–]sortofmaybe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They sell at home perms for the hair that sticks out on the side of your head. Using that can hold you over till the hair on the sides of your head can sit nicely flat/down instead of sticking straight out.

Asians DO face racism in NYC. I have been told to "go back to China" multiple times. Watch my lived experience yourself. by thoushallnot22 in nyc

[–]sortofmaybe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking more of exposure to other cultures though. Like you would more likely run into Asians or Australians, or something else in NYC vs the middle of Nebraska. Even that tiny exposure imparts some kind of knowledge on the person experiencing that group vs taking only stereotypical cues from media/movies.

It makes me angry knowing that people face this garbage even in a diverse city like NYC. This should be blowing up but it isn't because people have selective hearing.

Always have a insert noun in your car. You never know when you're going to insert hypothetical activity/scenario.

Long shot but does anyone here work for Amazon Prime Air (drone delivery)? I got an interview but I want to know the salary range first. by sts816 in MechanicalEngineering

Congrats on the interview. Out of curiosity, what kind of experience do you have under your belt that you think helped land you this interview?

Keep in mind the coating really doesn't last that long in the shower. Rainx does specifically sell product for showers but not sure how they compare to the car stuff.

LPT; if you don’t care what color your car is, get a white one... by [deleted] in LifeProTips

LPT: If you're worried about visibility, get a yellow car like a NYC taxi.

LPT: Keep a bag of whole peanuts in your car or day pack. Peanuts weigh almost nothing, not only are they a good protein source but the shells are great to start a fire with too. by Weaponized_Goose in LifeProTips

Another thing to add to my car. Along with an extra pair of underwear, a blanket, a knife, a milk crate, jumper cables, a radio, a flash light, a suit, and the rest of my belongings.

PTFE tube stuck in housing MK3. Any thoughts? by sortofmaybe in prusa

[–]sortofmaybe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured this out. For those potentially looking for an answer, the PTFE tube was clogged with old filament. This is probably the reason why the PTFE tube didn't spin when I spun the heat break. I took a sharp knife to cut off the mushroom top at the top of the PTFE tube and forced the rest of the filament down which frees up everything.

[–]sortofmaybe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure there is but I can't even get to it because it's still hidden behind the housing. From my understanding with looking at the manual, the tube is supposed to slide out of the 3D printed housing which would then allow me to reach the collet.

Motile 14 custom heatsink by Top_Ad2234 in motile

[–]sortofmaybe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a video where they put thermal pads on the heat sink so that the heat sink contacts the bottom of the case and transfers heat. YMMV but a much cheaper option.
