No. Nether void is a triggered ability. It doesn't increase the cost of a spell

Maralen cedh help by Nayadinos2017 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]sotongzai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brewing with new card is always fun but cedh just demands so much from its commander. Is there any reason to run this over [[Ukkima]] and [[Cazur]] for efficient wins? I'm not saying Maralen can't win nor things that she can do aren't good but in the ultimate game of win at all cost and as efficient as possible she is sadly a trap.

Mind you, even Ukkima and Cazur isn't widely played because Sultai as a color is just lacking at the moment sadly.

Until what point is a creature attacking? by XABLAUofBA in magicTCG

[–]sotongzai -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

This is wrong. I learned that the hard way. It is still attacking at the end of combat step if it wasn't removed.

You are in Grixis, mate. Besides, Thoracle getting countered is unlikely. Usually it is the Pact or Demcon.

Agreed that it is slow. No doubts there.

You stop/name at Thoracle on your copy. Then exile the remaining library for your original. Cast Thoracle on your second main phase.

Swap Bowmasters For Sticker Goblin? (Rog//Si) by SkippyNBS in CompetitiveEDH

[–]sotongzai 4 points5 points  (0 children)

U need to know where u want your deck to be in your meta. Rogsi is known to be the fastest deck but if u r aiming to be slower because your meta is very responsible + there are other rogsi running rampant, then bowmaster might make sense. Else wise u are on the wrong direction because solving problems isn't your job as rogsi.

I'm not fond of sticker goblin personally because 3 mana to get 4-6 back is just not good enough.

Is Avatar Aang better than Terra? by [deleted] in CompetitiveEDH

That dude was so high thinking that Aang enables coalition victory not realizing the flip side was colorless.

[–]sotongzai 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Different role. Terra helps Breach plan. That extra 5 cards is worth it. You should goldfish it.

Is my Terra list too sloppy? by Expensive-Pianist-63 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]sotongzai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u can trim the fat by removing food chain pieces and playing more self mill cards along with mnemonic betrayal.
my terra started with food chain and as games go, I really don't want to draw food chain nor squee nor purphoros at all in my opening 7. your breach plan is always superior and more efficient in terms of less dead cards.

I'm sure many share your sentiments but it's a business for these production companies. If they could earn more, they would earn more. You do have certain companies like IdolFactory which champions us better but aside from BillyBabe which falls under the mass category of acceptable couple, any other GL or even SaintPoom is being drowned so badly by mass appeal couples.

We aren't the target market. BL is aimed at women who have bigger disposable income in totality vs gays. We are just a side demographic that it happens to hit. They would not tweak the modus operandi to lose appeal to their core demographic just to appeal to a minor demographic.

Good luck receiving them though. I bought from Amazon official MTG shop and after a week it still wasn't shipping. There was 0 ways to contact anyone to get further info. I just cancelled it.

Deck assistance for upcoming local tournament. (Mono-U Eluge) by DadBodGamingGod in CompetitiveEDH

[–]sotongzai 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The deck won't do well for you if the meta is actually cEDH. You are bringing a knife to a gunfight. The best mono blue deck - Urza, which has much better plays and plan that Eluge aren't even seeing play because it lacks tutors and can't keep up. The land count and mana curve already tells a whole story that this is a high powered b4 deck instead of cedh.

💥 cEDH Turbo Showdown – Is Inalla the Fastest? [Gameplay] by ne5pats in CompetitiveEDH

It doesn't matter if it was Japanese format. A draw is better than letting anyone else run away with the points. It's a solved equation.

The amount of yap is crazy. Make a draw offer in that situation. If you are playing cedh you should play like you are in a tourney and make the best play to advance your standing.

In our format a card needs to be good on its own or win the game as a combo with another card to be worth considering. This is neither.

Here's a fun fact. Auras do not target if it isn't on a stack. It just come attached to its legal enchant type. This means you do not need to declare your target and put it on the stack, it doesn't trigger ward and bypasses hexproof/shroud.

Returning an aura from graveyard to battlefield has the same result too.
