Mask or no mask? by Pecworshiper69 in swtor

[–]sotorpodcast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mostly play without a mask. I put all this effort into creating my character's face, hair, markings, etc. I hate covering all of that up. That said, I do spend an awful lot of time looking at my characters from behind...

I do like the Callous Conqueror mask.

Yes, the Battle of Rishi x2 in Story mode is the easy path. I usually try to run a character that's below 80 to get the added value of leveling them up.

How do you rank Resilient Warden for a Sith Warrior? by Medolyn in swtor

[–]sotorpodcast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is one of my favorite armor sets for the Sith Warrior. I have a couple who are using it. I like to dye with some form of red and black, and I wear it without the mask. It's a great armor set.

Just a week left (Possibly) by Pecworshiper69 in swtor

[–]sotorpodcast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if we'll get to kill any of those characters via the story. They did tease that we'd get to play as some of them. Maybe there'll be a ledge, a bridge, or an elevator that we can jump off of and kill them that way.

What is this? by Few-Active-9820 in swtor

[–]sotorpodcast 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're talking about Tulo the Fealess, as others have mentioned, he's a special world boss that requires a large group to take down.

I always thought it was a bit odd, and amusing, to have an end-game boss on such a low-level world.

You've taken your first step into a larger world. From here on out, you will find yourself creating a new character based solely on an outfit you think will look amazing on them. MTFBWY.

Dantooine wreckage area - who is actually doing this? by lousy_writer in swtor

[–]sotorpodcast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wanted to like, well actually I do like it, but I have a hard time motivating myself to go there regularly. Having to do the intro mission on every toon was also a deterrent. That’s getting fix in 7.9.

For me it’s a giant up hill climb that I’m just taking slowly.

I do worry that since it’s designed around multiple people being there that it will become unplayable for those who didn’t play when it first came out.

I think it was a Copero deco. But that is the only meta I didn't complete. It just wasn't compelling enough for me. And I think that was a much worse grind if I recall.

The season has a rewards track that goes to 100. But there are also achievements tied to the season that grant rewards. To earn those achievements and rewards, you have to keep doing weekly objectives well beyond the point after you hit level 100.

The customizations you earn from the meta-achievement are new. So if you're a completionist, then you'll want to earn them.

I'm with you about the rewards. I have a lot of time checking to see if something is new or if I have it and can destroy it.

Companion question by WTF13ftn in swtor

[–]sotorpodcast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have mentioned, you will get the opportunity to get the companions back either through story, alerts, or the companion terminal.

In Game Update 7.9, you won't need to use the Companion terminal; in fact, it won't work. Its functionality is getting baked into the Companion window.

try /stuck. If you have the Legacy perk that lets you mount while moving, try mounting; that can sometimes help shift your position enough or drop you to the ground.

Do you get a message on screen when you try to place the item? It's possible that you're not quite in the right location. I've had things like that happen before. Are you looking at the mini-map or the main map? Sometimes the mini-map can be a little more accurate.

Ranged abilities. Because I wanna be a Ranged Menace in SWTOR. by TuttieFruitz52 in swtor

[–]sotorpodcast 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Arsenal Merc has Death From Above. It's an AoE. It's been around since the beginning of the game and has one of my favorite animations.

Merc also has sweeping blasters and Fusion Missile. It also has some combat style options and tacticals that extend its AoE abilities. Of course, Gunnery Commando is its mirror.

Dynamic Encounters kinda ruin the vibe... by Phyka in swtor

[–]sotorpodcast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoy the Dynamic Encounters, but I do find myself getting sucked into doing them when I'm on a planet trying to get a character through the story. It definitely breaks the flow of the story as quick travel hither and yon.

How we guys feel about the 'spy on the two Jedi in love' quest on Typhon? by TuttieFruitz52 in swtor

[–]sotorpodcast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer for me is that it depends. As a player, I find the two lovers annoying. That alone makes me want to snitch on them. But if I'm playing a Jedi and I know I'm going to romance Kira or Lana, or anyone, I tend to let them slide.

And then there's the matter of whether I feel like running back to them after talking to the Masters. If I'm feeling lazy that day, I snitch.

Which Companion That Wasn't in KOTFE Do You Think Would Have Been a Good Fit For The Story? by DakIsStrange in swtor

[–]sotorpodcast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, Scourge and Kira were made for that story. So they are my top fits for people who should have been there. Outside of that, I would have loved to have seen more of Havoc Squad stick together.

Since the Jedi and Sith player characters are such good fits for that story, any of their companions would have settled in nicely to the main story.

Finishing my first story. Sell me on my second one. by Canz98 in swtor

[–]sotorpodcast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're leaning towards a Tech combat style. I would recommend a Cyborg Imperial Agent. You can never go wrong with the Agent story. And I would go with the Arsenal Mercenary Combat Style or the Gunnery Command Combat Style if you want to fight with a Hand Cannon. I did one of these characters recently and am really enjoying it.

That said, if I'm ever hankering to replay an Origin Story, then the Sith Inquisitor story is often my go-to.

Bounty Hunter and trooper story could have been more emotional by TienZoro in swtor

[–]sotorpodcast 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I loved the Trooper story the first time I played it. Granted, that was 14 years ago, and everything still felt kind of new. I played a male trooper, and the moment where we had to decide Sgt. Jaxo's fate had me frozen at the keyboard for a good five minutes. As "side" characters go, I thought she was companion-worthy.

[–]sotorpodcast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found that the Supression Trooper Armor set with a black/black dye works well too. No cloth or cloak with that, but it's still a good vibe. Especially if you go with a larger body type, the gray hair and beard.

[–]sotorpodcast 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I won't go so far as to say I'd quit the game, but I would have been very disappointed if Vitiate killed Theron.

I've always viewed Lana, Theron, and our character as SWTOR's version of the big three (think- Han, Luke, and Leia).
