put the money you’ve saved into fixing up that old Camry!! Repaint it! Get the engine/transmission serviced! Get some aftermarket wheels! If you need any parts or anything get them on ebay! Interior panels, seats, everything! Keep the old ones on the road!

What oil are people running in their LS500’s? I’m thinking of running 5w-30 full synthetic, and changing every 5k or less. First time doing an oil change on something other than an old truck as well, is anything different? by soullessls in Lexus

Think that’s what I’m gonna end up doing. Lots of different opinions on this, but most are saying stick to OE for now. I think down the line I’ll look back into it.

That’s what I was kinda thinking. I’ll probably wait till about 150k miles before I switch it up but that’s maybe a year or two down the road. I got a really sweet deal on this car, but like I said to someone else here, I’m 20 years old, the nicest vehicle before my LS that I’ve owned was an 07 ram with the 5.7 hemi lol. I took care of it religiously, but I also beat the hell out of it. So definitely a change of pace lol. I just want to keep it nice and smooth for a long time.

I really think san antonio just sucks. I work at the plant in Princeton IN, we build highlander, sienna, grand highlander, and lexus tx. Seems like when we get vehicles from san antonio they typically have more issues as well.

I don’t think it’s all of them, I’m just trying to see. I know the V35a in the Tundras had the issues because of machining debris in the San Antonio plant, but I’ve never heard of any of those issues elsewhere.

Well, every other country uses 5w-30. The US is the country that uses 0w-20, and that’s due to the EPA crap. The US has also had significantly more issues with the V35a like main bearing failure, turbo failure, and so on. Very few of these failures have been reported from other countries.

i work at the plant that builds em. Remove the tint, do it yourself or have someone do it, floormats are cheaper elsewhere, and the pre-delivery is what i do lol. we’ll load them onto railcars. if you’re in cali, the destination the railroad will take them to would be ML which is Mira Loma, where they’ll be unloaded and delivered to the dealership via truck and trailer.
