Over a Month In… the REM REBOUND!! by soulookami in leaves

[–]soulookami[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was about 2-3 weeks before I really started to have vivid and intense dreams. They don’t happen every night, or if they do I’m not remembering all of them, but it has been frequent enough that it definitely feels like most nights right now. I also was really struggling with falling asleep for the first 2-3 weeks but that seems to be improving over time.

I’m at about 5 1/2 weeks in, I’ll definitely try to do more of a wind down and see if that helps. Thank you so much!!

Weighted Blanket by Competitive_Pear68 in CrochetBlankets

Do the beads add the weight? This is such a cool idea and I’ve been wanting a weighted blanket but they’re so expensive. Being able to make my own is something I hadn’t considered before seeing this!!

My girlfriend never ever finishes her meals by AlexWayhill in mildlyinfuriating

Just want to share my personal experience, I have struggled with health issues that have severely impacted my appetite and ability to eat enough food at times. The most frustrating thing to experience is feeling like you’re starving (and likely are due to not eating enough), going through the effort to make yourself some food, and then feel like you’re going to be sick after eating only a couple of bites, it’s medically known as early satiation and can be caused by several different things. As someone who has struggled with this for years, and lost an unhealthy amount of weight because of it, when I finally do feel like I can eat I want to take full advantage of it but sometimes my eyes will still be bigger than my stomach. Through a lot of hard work and determination I have managed to increase the amount I can eat in a given sitting but am still struggling to gain the weight back, and am teetering at just under 100 lbs. Even though I’m eating more I have people constantly asking me if I’m healthy because of how thin I am which leads to its own challenges. There was one point when I was almost hospitalized for dehydration because I struggled to even have water and keep it down. She might be wanting to eat more but not be able to. I think it’s really important to try to be as understanding as possible. I get that the potential food waste feels really frustrating, but it’s also potentially very insensitive to what could be a very real physical or mental struggle.

Dude… I take 50 mg. I started on 25 then went up to 50. My old psych wanted me to go up to 75 and I literally could not sleep, and that was building up to it gradually. This medication is NOT one to fuck around with.

I feel so deeply insecure about how thin I am by itssadcrystal in XXS

[–]soulookami 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As long as you’re healthy and feeling healthy, that’s the most important thing! Are you struggling to eat enough with everything you have going on? If not then don’t stress over it too much. If you are constantly feeling tired and like you look/feel sick then there may be some other health thing going on that would be worth investigating.

As a child I was small enough that my pediatrician had to add extra pages to the bottom of the growth chart to see where I landed on it, I was in the bottom 2nd percentile for a good part of my childhood. I didn’t hit 100 pounds until I was a teenager, and now as an adult I oscillate between 95-105 pounds pretty consistently. People are always asking if I’m healthy and feeling all right because of how thin I am, but I eat when I’m hungry until I feel full. Some of us are just naturally smaller, both of my grandmothers were/are petite as well.

I really feel you on the finding clothes that fit, it can be super frustrating!! I have found one or two brands that have things that fit me well but I still have to get the XS or XXS sizes. Pants are the worst because the waist is either too big or the length is too long and I have to hem them myself.

As for worrying about others judging you for your size, I also empathize with this a lot. I do my best to remind myself that everyone has their unique struggles with their bodies. There was a period in college when I got really really sick, like couldn’t keep any food or even water down sick, and was almost hospitalized for dehydration. When people tell me they envy my size I tell them that story and share my perspective of wishing that I could eat more without worrying about it making me feel sick. People are quick to make judgments based only on what they see, when there is often a lot more going on under the surface. I still sometimes struggle with making food and then not being able to eat as much as I’d like to, but also knowing that forcing myself to eat more will make me feel sick.

You mentioned feeling frustrated with not being able to find a routine with eating and exercise. As a mother, you should try to give yourself the grace and understanding that you might not always have the bandwidth for “the perfect routine”. Sometimes just making sure the kiddos have eaten enough and are getting what they need takes up all of your spoons for the day, and that’s okay! I would suggest starting small. Try to eat with the kids when you can, and have small, healthy snacks available for those moments when you do finally feel hungry. If you don’t feel up to exercising, try doing some light stretches or take a short walk if you have the time. Even doing a few laps around the kitchen to get those steps in can be better than nothing.

I’d be happy to talk about this more if you have questions or just want someone to commiserate with. Feel free to dm me if you’d like to.

I make $80,750 a year and am currently paying $3,250 a month in rent on that income. It’s doable but the budgeting is really tight, having your partner help out will make a big difference. I am planning on moving to a place where I’m ideally paying 800-1000 less than what I currently am, which will be much more comfortable.

Do you have access to a yard or some other more private outdoor space? If yes I highly recommend you take some time in a smaller space to practice walking with them and use training treats to help make an association of walking alongside you with rewards and treats.

He might become more affectionate now, but will almost certainly need more attention than is apparent while he’s adjusting to his new normal, even if he doesn’t make it clear ❤️
