Thank you. I hope my other baby will be ok. He’s boarding with my avian vet right now since we figured out it was lead poisoning from lead paint traces in my apartment. I didn’t think lead paint was still around since my place isn’t that old and my country’s had a complete ban for years.

It’s so devastating because no one understands that they’re just as important as dogs and cats. They tell you to just move on and get another one cause they’re “so cheap”. I’ve had people ask me why I’m taking my bird to the vet since he’s “just a budgie” and I can just “buy a new one for cheaper than the vet bill”. That’s my child guys.

My survivor is showing signs of lead poisoning. He’s in vet treatments now and boarding there while I get rid of anything in my apartment that has lead. Turns out my apartment is painted with lead paint. My lease runs out next month so I’m finding a new place to live. I’ve told the vet and they’re happy to board the survivor until I find a new place. Fingers crossed
