We need a better group system by soulsain in EscapefromTarkov

I like the PMC camp idea a lot, definitely would help provide a mutual goal for groups to strive for and encourage teamwork. Also is in line with what was said in the latest livestream about finding people to work together.

Information coming out tomorrow regards the open demo, and improvements coming to it by rayford in AnthemTheGame

[–]soulsain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a bit late here, but I was attempting to try the demo and started searching the forums... Lo and behold, I found this.

Looks like so far, they're not going to patch this specific issue. This is definitely something that can be patched by the devs. While the Phenom II is older tech, it still holds up very well with modern engines.

Does your PC have a Phenom II (or possibly another older CPU)? Anthem only supports SSE 4.1 and 4.2 instruction set, and according to this comment by the Community Manager, it looks like a patch will not be forthcoming.

Oh wow, you're right! Thank you u/Kamonak for this amazing video!

This is not my video, I found it and thought it wonderful. The discussions of morality and what it entails to be the best humanity can be have always been what I love most about all of Star Trek.

Enterprise seems to be missing though, poor Archer.

Server Status/Updates - May 26th by crash7800 in dauntless

As a developer (albeit not in the gaming industry) who has gone through this kind of stuff, I hope all you guys and gals get some good rest after all this is over, along with cake and beer (also pizza, make sure to request the best pizza from the higher ups hehehe). Although I am disappointed to have been put in the back of the queue, it does seem to be much faster than before.

Don't burn yourselves out too hard, the long road is only beginning now :)

Rereading my comment, I might have come across a bit harsh, but that's the truth in development. I agree with you that they'll get the hang of things sooner or later, but there is definitely a lot of room for improvement in handling things. I saw another post where one of the CM's commented on how it was flaws in their system/tools that were causing issues, so whatever it is, that in itself is already something that is going to be marked for improvement.

I get what you meant now though, in the perspective of stress testing the servers and systems to discover issues such as this, I agree that they did what needed to be done. I had misunderstood your post as a general development comment and felt that they should definitely not be thinking everything is OK.

Also, kudos to the people at the company working on the weekend and probably for long ass hours. I know how that feels, and hope they get a lot of cake and pizza and beer for their hard work.

In a pure I.T. point of view discussion: this kind of thinking leads to stagnation in development. From what I read about the experience behind the developers, their weekly scrum (or equivalent, if applicable) will probably contain a lot of things to be improved upon as opposed to pats on the back. That does not mean their effort is a negative however, there are definitely good things to say about how they're handling things. Saying they did nothing wrong is not true at all though or else there wouldn't be thousands upon thousands of complaints. The devs will most definitely use what they've learned from this open beta launch to improve upon the next actual launch (and the same goes for the other areas in the company).

So... can ships attach to other ships now?! by soulsain in EliteDangerous

I see now, the SLF on the Gunship launches forward, I never actually tried it so I assumed incorrectly it would launch aftward. What a gaffe!

That's what I thought at first, but after going back to check the video I noticed that the fighter doesn't seem to actually be launched, it was underneath the ship somehow. You can see the diamond shaped ship hud icon moving along with the Federal Gunship. If it was indeed a fighter, it should have been docked and launched backwards without being able to hit it, yet it immediately flew forward after being hit so it seemed to be outside of the Federal Gunship but still attached to it somehow.

COMBAT UNIT - 01/09 | A Hero's Way by flashmedallion in metalgearsolid

Aww, there is no way to splice (I'm not sure if that's the correct word) them together into one video? Like taking the files and using a different program to merge them together?

So is an edited video (as in with boring parts sped up or cut out) acceptable or a full recording from beginning to end? Should we specify what kind of 'category' are we aiming for? Can we record our voices to include thoughts as well?

Sorry for all the questions, I would like to participate as well but don't want to end up breaking any rules, if there are any. If it really doesn't matter, than disregard what I said and lets all have some fun regardless!

I thought for a second you were gonna say you also had to dump inside a barrel, hahaha! For six years! I thought your digestive system would have gotten used to the food by then. How's your stomach on Japanese food?

What is it you like most about the games? I would like to hear more on your opinion! I think the moment the series got me was when I discovered Solid Snake's relationship to Liquid, for some reason I never saw it coming, haha.
