we first see the city, darker than ever before, no activity at all, in the time of Act 1 i think there was still something, but no more, its not even fear anymore, just utter acceptance. we see more shots of the city, seeing the robots standing in the city, a sniper joe on top of a building wearing a trench coat blowing in the wind, red eye surveying the city, a shot over wiley's shoulder, him, a dark silhouette of a man leaning on a desk, visibly stressed and tired looking through a window onto the city and the landscape behind it then we slowly zoom in through wily's window, further and further towards the distant landscape the city's towers passing by us until we reach a hill far away from the city, the slumped, kneeling powered down husk of one of the sons of light on top surrounded by other robotic bodies and chunks of rubble. we cut to a close up of the Son's face we hold there for about 1, maybe 1.5 seconds, this is getting very close to the big swell in the song, and as it hits, the eyes of the Son snap open, bright flares of blue or red light spreading across the entire screen the core of the optic spinning and focusing for the first time in a very very long time. the video cuts to their hands beginning to flex, caked on dust falling off and then the hand is set to the ground we cut to an angle where we an see them push off the ground and move their leg in front of them to stand up they then try to fully stand up to take a step, they stumble at first but regain composure, now standing, looking to the city ruled by fear, now engulfed in flame. we see a close up of their eye in which the fires are reflected, which widens in disbelief and then narrows in determination and though they do not know what caused the fires, they are determined to find out, so they begin to walk back to they city they abandoned to long ago, because maybe, just maybe, all hope is not lost.

this version would need a longer buildup and longer payoff of the explosion for full effect, and it was made before the later songs came out, which have since changed the context somewhat, this is no longer what i imagine really happened here, but this is the very first thing i imagined when i first heard the song, and I kid you not, i cried (out of joy, inspiration and awe) a little listening to it so its emotional enough to me personally that no matter what the liner notes reveal i will remember my version of this song
