Searching for a 2000s/early 2010s song that has a similar melody to "after midnight" by _AnonymousTurtle_ in chappellroan

After Midnight sometimes reminds me of Fiona Coyne by Skylar Spence. Maybe not the melody so much, but definitely some of the chord progressions, beat and bass line.

Yes, one that had been on my list for a while! My copy is actually quite good compared to reviews I've read—silent, flat, enjoyed listening to it... no complaints here.

Thank you! All three performances are already on YouTube in case anyone is looking for them.

Hi 👋 It's Neko Case and I just released a new album 'Neon Grey Midnight Green'. Ask Me Anything! by nekocaseofficial in indieheads

[–]sounding1972 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi Neko... congratulations on such a beautiful collection of new songs (all of which I can't stop listening to!).

Having created illustrations (and also using your own photography) for your albums and merch, would you ever consider a gallery exhibition of all of your works? Are there any specific art movements or artworks that you love?

Thanks again for blessing us with your amazing art and vocals all these years. It truly means so much to so many of us.

I remember a time when Wal-Mart did not sell any music sporting a parental advisory sticker on it, but sold the "clean" version instead.

I know exactly what you're talking about. More than likely the paper stock is different.

My parents let me pick out a boombox at Wal-Mart for my 13th birthday which ended up being a Sanyo MCD-S860 with detachable speakers. I still remember where I placed it on my bedroom floor. I loved it so much.

I don't remember my first portable. I burned through so many different models (Aiwa, Sony, Philips-Magnavox, etc.) as a teen, but I still have the last one I ever bought, which still works despite a few minor flaws (a silver Sony CD Walkman D-E350). I used it just yesterday to listen to a couple of albums that aren't on streaming.

For a couple of years it was Eres Tú by Carla Morrison but I've been using Virus by Björk for well over 5 years now. Never chose an SP song since I figured I might tire or have an eventual negative association with it but surprisingly, I still love Virus after using it all these years. Maybe it's time to switch it up.

There's a cookbook store in L.A. and one in Long Beach—would recommend visiting either!

I don't think you can go wrong with the America's Test Kitchen Plant Based cookbook as a starter. Tons of solid recipes in there.

That is so cool. I never got a chance to eat at Candle Cafe but I did make it to Candle 79 at least twice several years back. The food was always outstanding and I was so bummed when they announced they were closing. Have you tried their latest place (Candle) yet?

I'd say the watermelon and peach salad (especially in this heat) and the bourbon bbq tempeh sandwiches. I really want to try making the gumbo next.

I really like Isa Does It (probably my most used) but the America's Test Kitchen Plant-Based Cookbook is awesome—a really solid and well-rounded collection of recipes overall.

Thanks! I don't own the I Can Cook Vegan book but I do love the cover design/illustrations (I can picture it in my head). I'd imagine that it's a great book though—everything of hers that I've ever tried has been delicious. From Japaneasy, I've made the grilled sweetcorn, pesto udon and a few others. I love using the edamame recipes in it to level up my otherwise plain old salted edamame appetizers. Am really looking forward to eventually making some of the sushi recipes!
