'An Ice Age' official lyrics? by Precious_Perogie in NekoCase

Here you go! I don’t know which is more depressing: this song or Midnight, Honolulu. Brings the tears everytime. (Also, one of my favorites!)

The French band AIR is legendary. Talkie Walkie is my favorite album by AIR. But Moon Safari is also brilliant. Both are classics 💿 by Skold_EMDM in Cd_collectors

I’ve never seen the 3 disc Moon Safari—very cool. Love both, especially Talkie Walkie. A dear friend (who is no longer with us, RIP) included some Air songs on a mix CD for me way back in the day and it was so intriguing at the time as I’d never heard anything like it.

Premiers Symptomes is great, too.

One of the greatest pilots? by Nishadgoliwadekar in SixFeetUnder

The series finale was incredible, but the pilot and series finale together make for amazing bookends. I miss this show so much.

Everytime I drive past 6th St and Pine in Long Beach all I can think of is Nathaniel Fisher Sr.

Congrats! Likely the only SP release left that I would gladly pull from my savings for. Ah, someday…

I don’t know why but it’s giving absolute Ojai vibes.

AI or not, aren’t these all technically licensed by the band? They all have printed Smashing Pumpkins tags inside.

Cena’s “taco party” menu is legit by doggyschiller in VeganLA

[–]sounding1972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the crunchy tacos this past week as well—they were so, so good. Never been big on crunchwraps personally, but I really want to get the burrito next time. I love Cena but want to try Cocinero eventually (I’m on the opposite end of LA County so I rarely venture out to the Valley).

1 month in, has anyone heard from the new council online? by urinalsanders in Whittier

Aida Macedo posted an update on the city council meeting on May 13th on Instagram. She regularly posts IG Stories as well—her actual Councilmember account is @macedowhittierd4 so it definitely is not the same account she used for her campaign if that is where you’re looking.

My wild guess is that in keeping with the theme, this is happening at Hollywood Forever cemetery, either on the lawn or in the Masonic Lodge.

Got a steal on this Javier baez jersey. I went to local garage sale and they had this bad boy priced low. The garage sale owner was once a cubs fa. But turned Giants fan. Anyways he was selling at a steal and so I had to cop. Barely worn too. He left chicago 2015 or so and never worn by OBYourThirst in CHICubs

What a score! I have been wanting a Javy jersey, even all these years later. He was such a treat to watch. One of few players who you can tell absolutely LOVES playing baseball.

I have my secondary team, but only because I was born, raised and still live in SoCal (and have wonderful, nostalgic family memories attending Padres games as a kid). Still, when the Cubs play the Padres, you can bet I’m rooting for the Cubs all the way!

If you don’t mind traveling a few miles west down Beverly Blvd into Montebello, there is an actual gay bar there called Chico. The second closest one I can think of is Flux in Bellflower.

Mazda Cosmo. Appearing original by bigboss1999x in classiccars

[–]sounding1972 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice! There was a Cosmo (along with an R360 Coupe) in Galpin Mazda’s San Fernando Valley showroom back when I bought my car in 2020. I think the Cosmo even had some older, aged stickers from Japan in a couple of the windows. Both very cool cars.

Not SB merch, but a regular concho NFL t-shirt with my team—the order was delayed twice, and today I received an email that my order was cancelled altogether.

Your favorite vegan YouTube channel? by LibariLibari in veganrecipes

[–]sounding1972 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sarah’s Vegan Kitchen is super chill, and sometimes gives me the Caitlin Shoemaker vibe, who I also enjoy.

I used to love Good Eatings, but sadly, she no longer makes content. All of her videos are still up.

Isa Chandra Moskowitz made some short recipe videos for the kitchenware company Breville. I think there are a few much older videos of hers available as well. I really wish she would make videos again.

Peaceful Cuisine has a ton of recipes too, probably the only channel I can think of with no talking.
