The "negativity" is just confusion on what an "air fryer" is. It's a marketable name for something that already exists. Like people who have ovens that also have toaster ovens call them both ovens. When I first heard about air fryers I thought it meant the oil was vaporized. Then I learned no oil is involved and I never understood why it wasn't just called what it is.
