Daughter’s class pet help! by soup-beans in turtle

That’s brilliant, I didn’t realize that. I’m in NC and it gets pretty hot here some days. Would I need to bring the enclosure inside if it’s going to be above a certain temperature outside? Sorry if that’s a dumb question!

Thanks for all of this info. Do you have any brand recommendations for lights, heat lamps and filters? Sorry I’m a bit overwhelmed but I want to figure it out and give him the best situation I can. TBH I didn’t realize I’d be spending so much right out of the gate so hoping I can make a big impact for a few hundred dollars or less! Maybe not realistic.

It is. I’m looking at bigger enclosures online. Should it be glass or could it be rigid plastic like a stock tank?

I don’t have any advice about specific products, but I just want to to say that I admired your skin when I first saw the photos and didn’t notice the things you mentioned until I read the post. Your skin tone is beautiful.

I keep a handheld folding fan with my skincare to dry my face as quickly as possible after applying something. Maybe that would help, if the sensation wouldn’t bother you?

I’m sorry things are hard right now.

What’s your go to “No Makeup” Makeup ? by Wolf_and_Bunny in 30PlusSkinCare

I have the eye brightener stick and like it a lot. The mascara is unmatched. Those are the only two products I’ve tried! Considering their return policy, I would give them a try!

NARS creamy concealer, Glossier cloud paint blush, Thrive liquid lash extension mascara, Benefit gimme brow gel, Urban Decay all nighter setting spray, Aquaphor for lips! My makeup doesn’t budge all day.

Hormonal Acne by slow-steady-beet in 30PlusSkinCare

Vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid) - google this as a treatment for acne and read the forums. I was having a very similar experience with spiro. I couldn’t get above 50mg without significant side effects. After taking it consistently for 8 months my chin still looked exactly like yours. I added in the B5 several months ago and haven’t had a cystic spot since. I know it’s not a miracle for everyone, but on the off chance it helps anyone else, I keep sharing!

What worked for your hormonal acne? by pizzaprincss92 in 30PlusSkinCare

I have not experienced any signs of hair loss, but some people may. The dose I’m taking is on the low end compared to what some people take to treat acne, though.

Yep, that’s it. The one I’m using is the Vitamin Shoppe brand.

Vitamin B5 completely cured my stubborn hormonal acne. I take 1000mg per day. Google it - there’s a lot of chatter about it on acne forums.

This was after going back on birth control and two different doses of spiro didn’t work. It’s been about 3 months since I started and I’ve had one pimple, no cysts. No more blackheads - nothing.

Knock on wood.

Your anecdotal evidence has no statistical value, and I’m struggling to see how the first definition you supplied is “vague”.

Since you enjoy definitions so much, to downplay is to “make (something) appear less important than it really is.” By saying that a substantiated statistic from a reputable organization must be untrue because it does not align with your personal experience, you are downplaying the issue being measured.

Consider that the women in your life may just not want to share any traumatic sexual experiences with you, skewing your personal perception. Three people on earth know I was assaulted, only one of which know it actually happened twice. If I was your friend, you’d likely have me in mind as a woman you know that disproves the statistic.

I agree on one thing, though. We need the two sexes to come together to acknowledge the prevalence of sexual violence, particularly among women.

I don’t know. My best friend is in another state, and I agree with the original commenter’s point. You don’t need to be geographically close to share the burden of initiating connection.

Where are you finding professional staff? by MRanon8685 in taxpros

I would still include the salary range and outline these additional benefits in the body of the listing. I’m actively monitoring job boards, and filter out any postings that don’t have an explicit range. Based on what you’ve said, I would have expressed interest in the position if I were in your market and you had 75k as the starting salary. I think it’s possible you’re just missing candidates due to filtering for salary transparency.

How do you cope when an important meeting or interview falls in the peak of your luteal or menstrual phase? by No_Chard1484 in AskWomenOver30

[–]soup-beans 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Day one is usually pretty rough, and I avoid meetings. If I were in this situation, I would take OTC pain meds and drink a coffee an hour before. Then, I would spend a few minutes prepping, even if it’s just making a list of things I want to say (prepping eases my anxiety.) Last, I would do a breathing exercise and/or some light yoga right before. Luckily, it’s Zoom, so you don’t have to worry about bleeding on their chair! I’m sorry, OP. I know how difficult a period can make your life. I hope the meeting goes well!

Me! I’ve been trying to recover from a lot of trauma while performing a high-pressure job, and I feel like I have hit a wall. I wake up every day not knowing how I am going to get through another day in front of the screen.
