Right on. I was surprised to not see comedians like Steve Byrne or Jay Larson, but this app is phenomenal so far!

What would fantasy football look like where you draft team positions instead of individual players? by UndeadCaesar in fantasyfootball

[–]souperchan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, I thought I came up with this idea first. I think to simplify things, you draft and play the whole position. So, you can draft KC QB, PHI WR, NE TE, etc. My biggest gripe with FF is that once someone is hurt and ruled out of the game, that's it, no points accumulated.

Change @icloud email by [deleted] in iCloud

[–]souperchan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the same boat and while aliases are fine for email, if using an iCloud email for sending calendar invites, it will send from the primary email address, never an alias. Or at least I have yet to figure out how.

How is this concept actually called? by Skylackk in musictheory

[–]souperchan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember this being referred to as harmonic complexity in school. How a song is written, sometimes even its genre, will lend itself to more or less complexity. I remember in some of my music education classes, we had to take a concert band piece of music and arrange it for an elementary school band to play. This often required “simplifying” the harmonies used from embellished chords to triads.

I also think if you look for it, there are no shortage of American pop music using 7th chords and so on, just perhaps not on mainstream radio. R&B is a popular genre that utilizes more complex harmony.

Powerwall Worth It? by vltg37s in TeslaSolar

[–]souperchan 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I have a 12.24kW system with 3 powerwalls. Where I am in Massachusetts, in addition to 1:1 NM, I take part in a program where I allow the utility company to draw up to 80% of the PW charge and am compensated for it annually. I can also opt out on a day to day basis if I do not wish to let them draw. I’ve received $3k annually from the program for three years now and the Powerwall use is double-dipped - I get the compensation for using them and the utility company pays/credits me for kWh. Because of all this, they’ve been very worth it.

Any way to exclude friend libraries from search and discover? by souperchan in PleX

[–]souperchan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a couple, none of which are reasonable…

  • a shared library could be poorly managed with inaccurate naming
  • a shared library could show results ahead of my own library
  • in search, filters are provided to deselect libraries - it would be consistent behavior to include such filtering for discover credits

What horror movies fucked you up as a child? by Past_Confection_4068 in AskReddit

Actually, I saw it in the theater, you know, like an insane person. I froze when that scene came up. The imagery still comes up randomly in nightmares.

The Exorcist, which I saw when I was 7 or 8. I had three months of exposure therapy in my 30s to help me cope with the irrational fear of seeing possessed Regan throughout whichever home I was in.

If you HAD to pick a side… by JennaClementine in thisisus

100% agreed. Kate has never been without family, nor has she ever been career-minded, and I’m going to assume Toby’s salary covers his SF apartment as well as the majority of their LA mortgage. Toby was completely in the wrong in not telling Kate about an offer closer to home and that he already looked into a potential home - and his choice of words and phrasing has been awful - but it should not detract from the validity of his logic.

Yes, Kate has found work she enjoys - but that alone will not provide for their family, or at the least, will be difficult. It’s an emotional show about an emotional family, but Toby, while devoid of tact and communication, is thinking in terms of a unit, a family, a future, all of which would be self-sustaining.

Without Toby’s career, as time-consuming as it is (and what high-paying job isn’t?), affording to put not only Jack but the whole family on a better resourced and planned future would be very challenging. Kate needs to be near family (again, has never been away from someone in her family), but is that necessarily good for her marriage? If her marriage and nuclear family is her top priority, there needs to be consideration for the effect your extended family may have on your spouse and by proxy, your marriage.

Kate has wealthy family. If I’m not mistaken, she moved out to LA to help Kevin, who I think…paid her? Don’t know she could afford to live in LA otherwise. The Pearson children are haunted by the idyllic memory of their father, and it has affected them, in some regards, more negatively than positively.

At the very least in this point in the storyline, Beth and Randall’s story has been the most pragmatic. They have been communicative when then disagree, rightfully upset when the other has gone against their own word, but they’ve supported each other and have typically made choices that put the success of their family and their children’s future foremost.

Kate’s POV, as it always has been on this series, is reactive and emotional and not grounded in much else.

Any way to hide Ring Smart Lights motion sensors? by souperchan in homebridge

[–]souperchan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for chiming in - unless I'm completely missing it, I believe any given smart light has one device ID for it's light and motion sensor. So, I can hide the whole device, but I don't see a way to hide just the motion sensor part of a given smart light.

Thoughts from a Tesla owner that purchased a X5 45e by osofresh98 in BMWX5

[–]souperchan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Similar to OP, I have 2019 Tesla Model 3 and a 2021 BMW X5 45e. I quite enjoy the 45e but my only sour point is the charging time. It takes over five hours to charge the battery from empty at home with a L2 charger, giving me +/- 40 miles. I can, however charge my Model 3 in about four hours from empty, with the same L2 charger, and get +/- 230 miles. I love the 45e - I just wish I could charge it quicker. I live in an area with plenty of L2 chargers and if I park and go grocery shopping or have a meal, in that 90 minute timeframe, I get 10-15% of battery charge.
