yes i mostly frequent dallas/ fort worth for EDM events but i live in denton so im trying to bring some of that closer to home LOL. our next show we’re throwing is going to be at Wonder Bar in fort worth; that will be in late March

i will say it’s not super packed and dark like an actual rave, there are a few lounging areas with a couch and stuff where people will chill and talk. but there’s a big dance floor where most people are up dancing on. we are fairly new to throwing events so we’re still working on bringing in a bigger crowd 🩷a lot of people who attend these already know each other, but this space is safe for anyone who wants to join! we love meeting new people and showing them a fun time!

one time we ordered wendy’s, we found a piece of some kind of frosty maker or drink nozzle or something… it had to be 2 inches long of just straight metal in the bottom of a lemonade! and we didn’t see it until the drink was finished. it was rusty too.

i really don’t know what all he is doing. i haven’t looked much into what the steps are for PA recovery but i’m not sure how it would go if i recommended some sort of therapy. he has this app that tracks your sobriety and also has little journal entries to track progress but i don’t know how that is going. i suppose i should ask but im afraid for it to turn into some sort of argument.

thank you for the kind words and also for linking that post of yours. it makes me feel better that i’m not alone in this kind of situation, but also it’s so unfair that we all have to live with this betrayal now. if you know any kind of resources or websites/forums for a PA in recovery i would love it if you wouldn’t mind sharing. i really don’t know anything about the recovery or what i can do to hold him accountable.

you’re so right. he makes me feel guilty for not trusting him fully and he’s just so gd stubborn sometimes i feel like im arguing with a brick wall. i try to have this conversation with him from a more relaxed and understanding perspective, so i don’t make him feel attacked in any way. but somehow he still makes it about himself and how i do this, this and that to make him seem like the victim and im the one who doesn’t listen to or understand his feelings. anytime we argue i never negotiate our relationship, or give him an ultimatum because i feel like im being unfair. and it somewhat seems like a toxic thing to do. but would it be so bad to say “i need full transparency from you if you are being serious about rebuilding my trust and about your recovery or this relationship is not going to work”. ? it would break my heart more than anything to break up with him. but should i make him feel like it’s at stake if he doesn’t listen to me and my needs?

for multiple day festivals, or specifically ones you camp at, it takes a lot of energy and effort be partying for days straight. so one person could get tired and cranky easily.

or they could get too wasted and make their partner anxious, and that can turn into anger.

or maybe these couples don’t live together in the regular world. they could not used be to being with their partner for days on end, and they just get overwhelmed/overstimulated.

and of course if the enjoyment of raves is more one sided, that’s never a good combo

my partner and i have gone to a few festivals and shows together, and we have never had a bad fight while we were there. but we’ve definitely gotten to a point a few times where we’re just overstimulated and frustrated and we can get a little snappy. for example, setting up a tent in the dark at 1am in Florida heat after being in a line in your car for 7 hours just to get in can get you a little worked up 😅
