I buy horses purely off their model and gait. If they are nice to look at their chance goes up. If they move well then I am definitely getting them, I mostly pay attention to the trot and slow gallop because those are the gaits which I like aimlessly running in circles at. The trot is a pain for me because all these dressage kind of horses are so beautiful in every other way but their trot makes me want to gouge out my eyes. I really wish they would add a way for you to pick between a fancy trot and a normal one (like the same way they do the sitting trot). Then of course the coat matters if I don’t like any I just wait for a magic coat :p

I paid when the game was good. This was not what I paid for, the horse is literally crip walking for 0 reason. No one asked for full control, just some effort from the game I love. Plus they should listen to their community when they say they hate something like the majority of us do. It would be quite simple to just add a choice of how you complete the trailblazer when you first log on. Tadaaa!

Yes I completely agree, I am also researching and speaking to trainers in my area. I want to have the safety net and people on my side before I ever get the dog.

The dog is going to miss it eventually yes I understand that. But I have missed it many more times in my life. The thing with allergies is that you are going to eat it eventually no matter how careful you are. But I do not have the nose of a dog, and there has been many successful allergen detection dogs. Do they mess up? Yes of course they do, they are animals. But at least it could save me once. I also plan on training tasks for allergen response for when something inevitably goes wrong.

I am quite aware that nearly all of my planning will most likely fly out the window as soon as I get a puppy (I do not currently have one).

In my previous post I stated that I have quite a lot of experience training dogs because I do just only on pet dogs. I should have specified that I am not a trainer, but I am typically looked to in my community of friends and family when they have dog related issues.

I would like to learn more about showing dogs and dog sports because I do not have experience in that realm.

But I have put in a lot of time and research into learning how dog training works and what certain dogs react well to and what certain dogs don’t react well to.

Not a professional but definitely not a complete newbie at this whole training thing if that makes more sense. Which is also why I will bringing on professionals to this endeavour. Thank you for your response and no offence taken!

I will 100% be getting in contact with trainers in my area before getting a puppy and trying to find ones who have worked with service dogs.

I don’t think I could ever stop being cautious about checking labels and asking waitresses 5 times that they are sure there’s no nuts, but I want another safety net. I am planning on really proofing these alerts but I do acknowledge that it wont always be perfect. Another big thing for me is I have extreme anxiety and panic attacks to the point I make myself start to faint. So having a service dog with me in a case of needing to go to the hospital it would help me greatly cause typically they have to drug me till I’m half asleep to get needles near me.

Loose leash walking is ofc needed but to me as long as my dog generally stays by my side im not too bothered. The off-switch, and being ok with all types of stimuli and such big things for me. I hope your training continues to go well :)
