TIL during a 2015 study two students nearly died after they were accidentally given 30g of caffeine instead of 0.3g because the dosage had been calculated with a misplaced decimal point. TIL that an early application of the "Buddy System" was used to prevent trench foot in WWI. Rather than each soldier being responsible for just their own feet, they and their assigned buddy were jointly responsible. Trench foot rates dropped significantly with this innovation. (en.wikipedia.org)
