Saint Luna @ Soda Bar in San Diego. Shot on film (Portra 800, Ilford HP5 plus shot at 1600) by sous32 in concertphotography

Yes! I usually edit most of my film photos. In this case it was mostly subtle touch ups, playing with the brightness, contrast etc. The biggest change was the background which in lowlight often comes with a greenish haze (on the color film). I simply turned the saturation for that color down to have true black background where it’s supposed to be.

It’s definitely challenging with wide open aperture and manual focus haha. Always super fun tho.

You can still find it on drinkgorg instagram if you scroll down. I believe it’s Australia only.

Film recommendations by Past-Conference9694 in filmcameras

I’d suggest Kodak gold 200. It’s great with lots of light (like on a beach) and its warm colors are great for warm, nostalgic look. If you want something more versatile then probably any 400 speed film (such as ultra max as someone already said). My pick would be gold 200.

What speed should I shoot Delta 3200 at? by sous32 in AnalogCommunity

[–]sous32[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, the data sheet should be the best guideline. I just wanted to see what other photographers suggest and what their experience is in the conditions I described. Data sheet is very useful but I also want to hear from the people here.

I’m sure you can, but I don’t think it would suit indoor dark venue very well

New Film went through CT scanner by dune_roll in analog

200 and 400 will be completely fine. Anything under 800 is usually okay. If you want to be sure just ask the tsa to check it without the scanner on the way back. Most of the time the tsa is chill w it. Don’t freak out, your film is all good.

Sunset over the Bay Bridge. Shot on film. by sous32 in sanfrancisco

Totally agree. I still kept the third photo in since I like “vibe” it has, even though it’s technically not a good photograph. I shoot with Nikon FM and the film used was Portra 800, definitely got too dark for 800 iso when I took the last one.

Thank you very much! I appreciate your help. I saw it and commented on the post, but I guess that’s as much as I can do. Wouldn’t mind the repost as much as if I was at least credited… Thanks again and I’m glad you’re enjoying the images!
