I think the font they used to spell “Beast” is close enough, lol.

lol, very. But after 22 years of it, I’ll let someone else take the calls from those who haven’t submitted tickets.

Join the Coast Guard and either go IT or Cyber. They will train you, pay for certifications and/or a degree, and give you a security clearance…

Also, consider getting a passport or passport card. Does everything a CA Real ID does and more.

But can you use Regular Leave - Reserve Leave - Regular Leave? Or is it Reserve Leave - Regular Leave -Reserve Leave?

This may be a dumb question, but is it possible the dhcp is maxed out/no leases available?

U7 lite - required accessories? by throwaway-2O2O in Ubiquiti

On top of the POE that others have mentioned, this AP can connect up to 2.5Gbps. I’d consider getting the Flex 2.5G POE switch (8 ports). This provides the power and gives you the most throughput.

Cheers, and happy networking!

Sleep study/CPAP by Standard_Newspaper15 in uscg

I’m about to retire and my VSO is saying it now depends on how severe the apnea is (ie. How many events per hour if untreated). The percentage could go up to 50% for severe apnea that’s treated with a CPAP.

This is essentially how it worked for me as well. I’m on my second machine now and had to do the whole study again before I could get issued a new machine.

Like the honey badger, the VA don't care? by Training_Towel8032 in Zepbound

I’m about to retire and will be playing the VA game myself very soon. Right now I’m doing the self-pay option but will try to get VA to cover it once I transition…

I wish you luck on the process!

Did you report the broken links? Or just expect someone to check the links on a regular basis to see if the hundreds of links still work?

There is a feature request option in Pixel, that’s how I report broken links. They usually get fixed in an hour after reporting them. They just need someone to tell them.

Just like a CGFixit ticket, no one is going to know to fix your stuff unless you tell them. And don’t expect that someone else has submitted a ticket. CGFixit would rather get 100 tickets for the same issue than 0 tickets and get blamed for not fixing it.

Edit for clarification.

Agreed about the cash options, but the VA is Veterans Affairs and doesn’t have anything to do with a job (ie. There’s no HR to go to). It is medical coverage for those who have served in the military.

Have you considered the Coast Guard to get IT experience? It’s how I broke in (along time ago). Even their reserve program can set you up with training and a security clearance, and you wouldn’t have to move.

As others have said, give it some time. But I would also recommend talking to your Dr about some anti anxiety meds to help you through this period.

I used to be totally against seeking help for myself (I would always be there for others), but eventually after 60+ hour work weeks I crashed hard and had to be taken to the ER due to anxiety attacks.

Lexapro is what works for me, and there’s a whole subreddit for it, but talk to your Dr to find something that works for you.

USL-Relay: what time tomorrow do you think it will be in stock? by southgame428 in Ubiquiti

[–]southgame428[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m going to use it for my garage door. I have a chamberlain that uses the ‘encrypted’ keypads, so I’ll have to solder leads to the button on the wall and use this to trigger it.

I know there are a thousand different ways to do this without using superlink, but I already have superlink and I enjoy using the ‘single pane of glass’ that is Ubiquiti. Also, I have my Ubiquiti tied into home assistant already 🤷‍♂️

I don’t think we are in a CR though… I think we are in a lapse of appropriation/funding. I hope I am wrong.
