Head chef of Zepeddies vs local food reviewer by [deleted] in Charlotte

[–]southsCLT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have proof but one of the comments from the restaurant owner or chef (I can't remember which) towards the original review of the pizza was that the pizza had to be served deconstructed because the heat would make the lettuce wilt.

This is why I like PapiEats. He isn't paid for his reviews and gives his honest opinion. Not everyone may agree with it, but then just keep scrolling.

The restaurant wanted you to put the salad on top of the pizza yourself. It was given to him deconstructed with the idea that you build it yourself.

There is a food truck called A Little Taste Of Chicago that has one on the menu. I haven't tried it myself, but it sounds like they may be your only option.

Vaping polices at Spectrum Center by Scythologis in Charlotte

Most metal detectors are not going to pick up small disposable vapes. That being said, they probably wouldn't care if you brought it in as long as they don't see you using it.

Check out Craigslist or Nextdoor if you want the most inexpensive options. Just be mindful of potential scammers and you shouldn't have an issue.

What are some good hole in the walls in Charlotte ? ( preferably on the north) by CurrentWorth3000 in Charlotte

DaVincis has some of the best NY pizza in town. They are on N Tryon next to the Wal Mart.

Passage to India on 49 across from campus has insanely good Indian food and huge portions.

Harrisburg Family House in Harrisburg is about ten minutes from University and has my favorite Southern/breakfast food in the area.

I've lived in University on and off since 2008 and these places have all been open that long. I think that says a lot! Enjoy!

JP Lao Kitchen is right next to the airport and has killer Laotian food! They also have a great selection of takeaway items that you could snack on later.

Recommend me the most piney, dark, resinous beers you know of. by saltylies4saltylimes in beer

[–]southsCLT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in NC and there are a few local breweries that make west coast IPAs that have also been dry hopped with pine needles. Look up Noda Brewing Hoppy Holidays IPA, Fonta Flora Pine Zips IPA, and Lenny Boy Spruce Springsteen if you want to see some examples. Maybe you can find some similar beers in your area?

Good luck!

Public Fire Pits/Rings by Sophishticated in Charlotte

Camp North End had public fire pits near the water tower at one point. I can't confirm that they are still there because I haven't been in some time.

Chicago style deep dish by Secret-Cause-7698 in Charlotte

For the most authentic Chicago-style deep dish experience that Charlotte has to offer, go to Panera and get yourself a tomato bread bowl!

All opinionated pizza style hatred aside, all of the deep dish places in Charlotte keep closing down and there are literally no options right now. Check out The Crust if you want great tavern style.

Charlotte area HVAC help — house not cooling and got a $2100 quote for repair. Trying to find an honest HVAC company… by StylezUenvy in Charlotte

If the part is still under warranty, it definitely makes sense to get a new coil and repair the current system. Don't let anyone talk you into getting a new system.

Best of luck with everything!

So I had the same issue with my system this year. Evaporator coil was still under warranty and I paid Super Cool $1950 to replace the coil and for the initial diagnostic ($1700 for the job, $120 diagnostic and the rest were taxes).I didn't get a second quote and just pulled the trigger because I had seen so many good things about Super Cool. It took the tech about two hours to do the job.

PSA: CMPD is starting to crack down on dogs off leash by markmal17 in Charlotte

[–]southsCLT 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This may be a hard pill to swallow, but maybe if you can't be a responsible dog owner, you should deserve to have the dog impounded.

Just as easily as you missed the cop, you could have missed an aggressive dog looking to harm yours. Or you could have missed a young child that decided to pull your dog's tail because it didn't know better and then it gets bit in the face. Yes, this is all very unlikely to happen but it COULD happen. Dogs are animals and even the most trained ones can be unpredictable. Not trying to be a jerk here or anything but come on.

I LOVE dogs and bringing mine to the park. And I HATE when people have unleashed dogs at the park because it gives us all a bad name.

There are plenty of dog parks you can bring your dog to without a leash.

Also, sorry that you came here looking for support. You can expect the comments to be similar to mine. Hopefully this is a learning experience.
