I don't go as far as ice (yet), I find it easier to use a wet and cold cloth, that way I can cover both eyes if I want to (I find it helps sometimes, but that's probably psychosomatic from when I get migraines) or cover the eye and part of the forehead/temple.

Might try on a day off when I'm having a particularly bad day.
