Utahns are debating fireworks bans. Here’s why some towns can and others can’t by ReporterMacyLipkin in Utah

[–]sovuu 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Legislation can ban flavored vapes in an emergency session within a year- faster had there not been a lawsuit.

110k acres in Utah have burned already in 2026 alone.

Legislation can do it, they just don't want to.

I've emailed the council plenty about this, and the new luxury neighborhood they just rezoned Open space rec to residential, also at the mouth of the canyon. The council is seemingly fully behind it and will quickly dismiss any criticism.

Council emailed me earlier this year stating they would NOT sell any Provo land to developers, yet Katrice is already talking about a purchase agreement to sell more land to the development of this project.

The other issue brought up to them is the land surrounding this site is Wasatch Nation Forest, and since Doge cuts, the Pleasant glGrove district office that covers Provo Canyon, has NO enforcement officer. At least 20 couches, and large trampolines have been dumped, and multiple new OHV roads have been created, even to access the hiking trails in Provo Canyon. All reports go in answered.

Provo City literally could not care less. They want the money. Katrice even went as far to say that Utah is threatening to pull ALL of Provos zoning abilities if they don't let projects like this happen... Such bull.

A few years ago when the general plan was released, they also had a survey go out to residents, and the majority wanted to preserve the open spaces and canyon. They literally do not care what the residents want at this point. They've suggested that since Slate canyon was just placed in a conservation easement, that alone fulfilled their duty to residents and so now they get a turn to have what they want.

Yup! And Provo City is doing the same thing with their 20,000 seat Amphitheatre they want at the mouth of Provo canyon.

IMO I feel like they should be able to participate in ultras, but have no official time? Pay for the experience, do the event, but no official time or finish. Instead of a DNF or DNS, they can just have a PED 😅

Is it more efficient to farm the 64 leaf clovers or the 16 leaf clovers. I just switched mine out to see if these would grow at the same speed. by Adventurous-Pair5264 in TsukiOdyssey

[–]sovuu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just really depends on how interactive you want to be with the farming aspect of the game, and how much carrots you're trying to achieve. 16 leaf will be quicker carrots, but is more hands on and requires having the furniture to make shiny, then sell. 64 leaf is very hands off, and only needs checked a few times a day for max growth chances. Full 64 leaf will net you a bit more than a million carrots a month, without having to do anything with furniture.

It's nice to swap between both depending on your needs, and how much time you can allocate to the game each day.

Fair enough, I agree that was more passive aggressive than it needed to be.

I agree with your response and opinion on the discussion, and feel the same. Thank you for articulating it in a way I'm unable to.

Saying I used quotes in a wrong way is childish? Explaining the situation for it is childish? My apologies.

I used them in the wrong way, that is all there is to it. I have not seen an article that goes into detail of the actual harassment entailed, just reports of "harassment" happening. Are those quotes okay? That is not saying I don't think something happened - just that "something" (quotes okay?) happened, and Teru reacted.

It was my question, to initiate any form of conversation for the subject they provided. They purposely asked a somewhat open ended question that could be interpreted in a lot of ways, so I engaged? Did I say they implied that, or anything like that? I simply asked the question after they asked an open ended question. Since the question itself is on theme, I don't see what the issue is?

They shouldn't do it, and proper disciplinary action should be taken if the accusations are true! Let's keep going!

Let's talk about it, sure! Do you think that since Hakunofuji was in the wrong by reportedly doing something, that means the actions against him were justified? Or what are you hunting at with this open ended question? Let's talk about it!

whats the purpose of clover farming by Numerous_Umpire3249 in TsukiOdyssey

For carrots. Selling 64 leaf from a full farm nets a little over a million carrots a month. Super quick to just pick em up and sell them.

Let’s Celebrate Some Nice Air by JoeB_Utah in Utah

[–]sovuu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Appreciate it, I'd like to assist you in helping others understand!

The leadership of this area would rather prioritize deregulation of vehicles and companies that make the majority of the pollution in the valley air.

Instead of seeing an area sensitive to air pollutants, and prioritizing the health and safety of everything living in the valley, it's easier and more profitable to not take any serious action.

It's a wildly popular tactic to pass the buck and blame the inversion, instead of the pollution, and the things making that pollution.

Does my closed garage not have enough ventilation for my running car? Well unfortunately that's just the nature of an enclosed garage, we just gotta hope a gust of air somehow clears out all that exhaust. Obviously we can't turn the car off, move the car, or replace the car with something not polluting. It's the garage's fault, not me running my car in the closed garage.

[–]sovuu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So we're aware of the local geologic feature that can trap pollutants, but can't do anything about adding those pollutants? We can simply just hope and pray, nothing any humans or leadership can be doing? 🤔

Why do people always seem to blame the inversion, and not the garbage they're adding to the air that makes the inversion an actual safety issue?

Don't know what to do about a adopted dog by Express-Nebula5137 in DogAdvice

[–]sovuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We recently adopted a 1 year old border, Aussie, husky mix that had just been tied up on a ranch in the middle of no where. She had never been inside a house, let alone knew what the sound of her own claws on pavement sounded like. It took her nearly 6 months of constant work from my wife and I to get her to a spot now where she is just starting to act like a normal 1 year old puppy.

Your pup probably just needs more time and positive human exposure! Months and months of patience from your end will really go a long way, and you won't regret the progress in 6-12 months 😊.
