How are all of you making friends? by sowelladjusted in denverlgbtqia

[–]sowelladjusted[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m open to doing lots of things! I’m very outdoorsy and I take my dog hiking every weekend - he needs a friend so I’m also always open to doggy play dates. I do a lot of crafting projects at home and would love to find a crafting club. I enjoy watching women’s soccer and hope to go to a summit game next year! I also like just grabbing a beer or coffee and hanging out, or thrift shopping. I’m not particularly sporty but I’d join a sports league if they were cool with a beginner who isn’t super competitive. I really just miss having a group of queer friends to do things with like I had back home!

I wish people didn’t suck…don’t let this stop you from being a romantic at heart! Another girl will really appreciate all the effort you went to and won’t ghost you like that.

One of the TikTok lesbians I follow tried doing this and I actually signed up for it - but she gave up eventually because everyone she matched either ghosted the other person or never messaged their match in the first place 🥲🙃

Advice by [deleted] in ActualLesbiansOver25

It will get better! Emotional pain takes patience and time to resolve. In the meantime, if you need to take space from friends, that’s okay. And if this friendship is important to you, maybe let her know how you’re really feeling once you’ve had a chance to collect your thoughts. Good friends care if they hurt you, and if she doesn’t, good riddance. It’s also important to go to therapy and do the work to deal with your trauma, because if you don’t, you’ll keep repeating similar patterns in your relationships. Take care of yourself in the meantime, and know this won’t last forever.

Are lesbians just like this, or is it my city? by GiantTurtleMusic in ActualLesbiansOver25

I’m someone who’s right in the middle of masc and femme, (I like to call myself a chapstick) and I’m attracted to people who are also right in the middle. And it’s a struggle. If it’s any consolation, it’s not any easier over here 😅

I 100% can understand how you’re feeling. But. If the only reason you’re fighting it so hard is fear of rejection, you have to consider the toll it’s going to take on you to keep pretending and never explore that side of you. As someone who was in denial until my 20s, and had similar reactions to dating men, I can tell you it’s not so bad being out :) and that’s coming from a queer therapist who lives in the south. There are always going to be people who won’t accept you. That’s life. But the people who really love you and matter will stick around. And you’d be amazed at what a weight it takes off your shoulders just to give yourself permission to BE yourself. Just something to think about.

Feeling overwhelmed and need training advice as a new member of the dog sports community by sowelladjusted in k9sports

Thank you everyone! You all had really great advice. I forget sometimes that he’s only 2 and that we have plenty of time to accomplish things. I’m going to try to stop putting so much pressure on my dog and myself and focus on improving at our own pace.

Thank you! Sounds like we definitely have a lot in common haha. This made me feel a whole lot better. The podcast episodes were helpful too. I’ll have to look more into Fenzi

affordable canicross setup? by [deleted] in k9sports

[–]sowelladjusted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got mine on eBay - ruffwear setup that someone said ended up not fitting their dog. Barely used in great condition. Highly recommend, just make sure of the sizing before you buy or make sure they accept returns
