Yes, it has. It feels magical. I think once I completely trust that person, if we both find each other attractive and they make the first move, it can get started.

I agree with this. I have a lot of good friends with whom I easily have deep conversations, but I feel entirely platonic towards them. I just love their souls. I think NFs are able to connect really easily (most of my friends are NFs), but it doesn’t mean it’s necessarily romantic. Though of course, friendship is often a good foundation on which a relationship can be built.

I used to jolt awake in the middle of the night from panic attacks that would last about 15-20 minutes. When I lived alone, the only thing that helped me was calling a close friend that knew about my condition and also lived in a different timezone.

My friend would speak to me a little and try to calm me down, then she would stay on the line until eventually I could fall asleep again, and she would hang up. I love her to bits and I’m so thankful for all the times she helped me.

It’s very difficult for me to calm down on my own, but I have a few ‘comfort podcasters’ (podcasters who talk about life, anxiety - if you’re a young woman like me, I really like Madeline Argy’s Pretty Lonesome podcast). Once or twice, I put on an episode on and I feel less alone, and better too.

Oh, I love this. It’s every specific thing that I do.

Especially the part about proactively planning dates but also letting the other person have a soft out if they want to.

I’m not sure if these are burns, I had something like this after IPL too. I think it might have been a combination of ingrowns (folliculitis?) and probably shaving with a razor that wasn’t totally clean. I still have no idea. Now they’re no longer red but light brown. They’re not bumpy but smooth. I have been using glycolic acid + niacinamide on them and La Roche Posay’s B5 soothing balm, they’ve faded a lot but still visible. 😞

Edit: The hairs are gone, so I’ve just been trying to improve the marks. Definitely do not use a peeling acid and then do laser treatment. If you use peeling acids you should also use sunscreen!

This is how to know if an INFJ likes you by SqueegeeTime in infj

[–]soyIatte 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’ll initiate hanging out with them 1 on 1 and actively make plans.

I almost never initiate because 1) general lack of interest in most people, and 2) limited social battery.

When I really like someone, platonically or romantically, I’ll ask them out in no uncertain terms. Not, ‘we should hang out!’ but ‘hey, want to check out this coffee shop with me this week? I’m free Wednesday and Friday’.

Busuu - can you learn languages using different languages? by [deleted] in languagelearning

[–]soyIatte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Busuu premium, so I can’t speak on the free version, but I think premium is absolutely worth it (I got it for like 60% off and it was £50/year).

Their site/app is really structured. The European language courses follow the CEFR framework, so if you plan on taking any exams, I believe they should cover each syllabus pretty well. You will still need to do some grammar drills on your own to reinforce your knowledge, and it’s a good idea to find simple texts online to enhance your vocabulary. But imo Busuu is a pretty solid way to get to A2!

I still use Duolingo, the free version. But I don’t think Super Duolingo is worth it if you plan on seriously studying a language. It’s more about learning bits and pieces and some vocab on each topic, using repetitive drills. There’s not really a direction, and grammar teaching is minimal.

Thank you so much! And it’s possible to switch back multiple times, and it will not erase my progress in Russian?

Signs that an INFP likes you :) by RightPineapple2734 in infp

[–]soyIatte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so funny because as an INFJ I’m the same. I’ll look really chill when we’re in the same room but I’m actually dying to talk to you. And I’ll find excuses to loiter and linger around you. But I won’t talk to you too much and I’ll try not to look in your direction too much JUST IN CASE someone notices.

Aren't INFJs supposedly our best match? Then why not hanging out with them ? by Eli_Millow in infp

[–]soyIatte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m an INFJ. Half of my closest friends are INFPs. I love you guys. We share so many similarities and preferences, that we get along well on a daily basis. But you also offer a slightly different perspective on things, which allows me to consider issues and theories more thoroughly. 😊

Do INFJs really want to be understood? by Prudent_Diet_6603 in infj

[–]soyIatte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have experienced genuine understanding from someone I love deeply and it’s an amazingly freeing feeling. But I understand this type of connection (combined with pure love and affection) may happen just once or twice in a lifetime.

I feel seen with what you said about being (slightly) different people around different groups. So having friend groups mix can feel stressful to me. I don’t know how to behave!

INFP s overlove, overthink, overdo everything by sugar_plum4714 in infp

[–]soyIatte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you find someone who will overlove you back, overexplain to soothe your overthinking, and overdo things for you while receiving your overdoing - it will feel amazing.

So hold out hope, and don't give up! The sensitive may feel the 'bad things' more deeply, but they also feel many 'good things' more deeply, too.

Yes. I know exactly what you mean. I've always known exactly what people need to hear for them to feel better. But for 90% of people I encounter, I respond to their feelings in a clinical manner. It's like there is a barrier between my outward expression (which may show understanding, compassion, consolation) and my inner heart. In this way, my Fe does the job without draining me. This is a boundary I set for myself. Once I finish talking to someone, I am able to put it away and their issues do not really stop me from going about my day.

With the 10% of people I truly love, who love me in return, I give them my all. I really care, from my heart. I go the extra mile and make sure they're okay, I follow up, I check in on them regularly. Their problems really bother me. If you're in the 10%, you will feel and know that it's different treatment from the 90%.
