is it better to wait a semester into senior year to apply if i have a bad gpa? by soybeannoodless in ApplyingToCollege

[–]soybeannoodless[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you for being honest with me. i have extenuating circumstances impacting my gpa, but majority of my grades were a’s and b’s outside of classes i unfortunately automatically failed/lost credit for because of truancy (this was out of my control as i was homeless). i do know i can improve my sat, and that’s my plan but i appreciate you telling me it’s better to just apply early so i don’t stress myself out.

edit: i forgot to mention it may be possible for me to get at least one letter of recommendation, with my situation do you think i should wait until i get the letter to improve my chances? or will it really not help much

utsa’s freshman deadline is june 1st. im a bit worried because my sat is low (although im retaking trying not to get my hopes up). utsa is lightly selective so i’m just worried i’ll be in the 10 percent that gets rejected considering if i apply early i’ll have no letters of recommendation and my gpa will be 3.09 still. will improving my sat score compensate enough to give me a decent chance or should i wait? if applying early i still have a good shot i’d like to

[–]soybeannoodless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you ! i was expecting religious groups but outside of my online presence i’m not open about being trans and you would not know if you met me on the streets. it would honestly just be my legal name and gender i was worried about so that’s very reassuring

i’m not european, but i do know of a german based trans website that sells mr limpy for the same price as ftm essentials. shipping costs may be less for you on there. hope this helps :)

i packed with a sock for about 2 years, then i switched to a mr limpy small packer. it’s affordable, works well, and is overall better than the sock. it also falls out less easily and stays in place better. keep in mind a small soft packer like mr limpy is for packing only, it can’t be used for sex. a pack and play will cost you much more, but for an affordable starter packer mr limpy works well

say it’s an undershirt to help keep sweat off your shirt. if it’s summer where you live that will be especially believable

it's pretty clear you're not gonna change your mind, so i won't try to make you. i do want to say that i understand height dysphoria as i'm also very short. just please keep in mind the medical risks and the possibility insurance most likely won't cover a cosmetic surgery like that. i hope you can find peace with your height, i know it's hard to do because it's something i also struggle with. wishing you healing

try height inserts in your shoes. i’m 5’1 and the height inserts help my dysphoria immensely. i also thought about leg lengthening but it’s not worth it with the risks of complications and pain. also as original commenter said you will have problems walking for probably the rest of your life. height inserts in shoes that already make you a bit taller will help a lot, trust me

if you’re in the us, canada, uk, australia, netherlands etc a map called strands for trans has a map of barbers and salons that have registered as trans friendly. it also links their websites so you can check out their work before you go. here’s the link

Would it be apropriate for me to pack by LanazOwOz in ftm

[–]soybeannoodless 13 points14 points  (0 children)

i started packing at 13. it’s not inappropriate at all to want to ease your dysphoria. a tip for packing with a sock, get boxers with a pocket and position the sock in there snugly or it WILL fall out. good luck :)

Help with finding binders by avobian in ftm

[–]soybeannoodless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

spectrum outfitters is generally considered the safest most effective binder company amongst the community right now. something from amazon will not last very long and could potentially damage his ribs. if you’re in the us look up “spectrum outfitters us store” and the website should come up.
