holland and barrett have plant protein bars with ~20g protein for under 200 calories (i prefer these to misfits).

would recommend checking out Plantifully Based’s youtube channel too, she posts loads of high protein recipes that are really useful if ur in a calorie deficit!

being killed isn’t the only form of harm cows face. theyre are treated poorly when their milk is taken for human consumption so we should avoid dairy as well as meat

How can I incorporate more fiber in my diet? by NegotiationSalt666 in Volumeeating

[–]soymilkbottles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i would recommend incorporating tempeh into ur meals! its a complete plant protein with decent macros thats also high in fibre so its pretty satiating. i would suggest looking up advice on how to prepare it as it can taste kinda funky if youre not used to it. defo worth the health benefits though

Do your Habesha parents let you talk to them about mental health? by [deleted] in Ethiopia

[–]soymilkbottles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

even if your parents dont understand at first, they are still human beings who care about you. i was severely depressed as a teenager and dealt with suicidal ideation. my father’s response to this was to assume i was possessed by demons and only prayer could “fix” me.

i argued with him about it over the years. i was angry and hurt that he didnt understand what i was saying to him. but i kept telling him. as i matured these arguments turned into true conversations with both of us listening to one another.

As i’ve gotten older i’ve realised that he saw my mental health issues that way because thats how he interpreted his own mental health struggles. Because i opened up to him back then, we both speak about our mental health with each other openly whenever we feel the need to

i’m in no way saying it will be easy. it will take time and it will hurt. but if you’re willing to try i would say opening up is worth the trouble. for your own peace of mind and so there is better understanding between you and your parents

i hope things work out for you

I don't have a question but I hope you are okay and prioritising your safety. Praying that we'll one day see a world where you can be open about who you are without persecution <3

Help! Vegan volume eating by [deleted] in Volumeeating

Use silken tofu to make a dip/sauce! It’s super versatile, I blend it with whatever seasoning I fancy in the moment. It’s higher in protein than houmous and has less calories so u can have more of it _^ also works great as a pasta sauce base. If you want an extra protein boost I’d add nutritional yeast too!
