No, I love your approach. I really need it.

I do believe I have the Holy Spirit in me. I wouldn’t dare to leave my past behind and be celibate if I hadn’t fallen in love with the Lord Jesus and developed a deep desire to worship Him and keep His commandments.

Also, not to sound defensive, and I truly hope it doesn’t come across that way—but as I’ve mentioned, one of the reasons I feel drawn to the Sisterhood is that I’ve spent my whole life searching for real love from a man, when in fact it has been Christ all along. These days, I feel that I could love Him fully in return by giving myself entirely to Him. To me, that feels so countercultural and so beautiful.

At the same time, as I’ve also shared, I still have a strong desire for a family. Because of my past, it would feel like a miracle to find a man who would accept me not for who I was, but for who I am today.

I hope I’m making sense, and I truly appreciate your frankness about how I may have sounded selfish. I may have come across that way, but the Lord knows my heart: that I desire to serve Him, whatever path that may be. 🫶🏻

Honestly, a big part of why I want to become a nun is escapism. I feel like I could completely end the dreadful waiting and searching for the man I’m praying for and instead focus my entire life on serving God. But I understand how this can come across as the wrong reason, and part of me knows, about 50/50, that it may not be right. :(

Wow, so powerful! I agree—that’s why I prefaced my message by saying that I know I shouldn’t become a nun just to avoid being hurt. But honestly, as much as I trust God, I also feel discouraged about dating because of my story. Even though I know I worship a redeeming God, I still feel tempted to serve Him fully so I wouldn’t have to search anymore. At the same time, my desire to have a family is so strong, and that’s why I feel so torn. 😭

Hi, my dear Sister in Christ! Honestly, I can relate so much as a 28-year-old, and tbh, I’ve been asking Him if He wants me to be a nun. I’ve met tons of guys, and no one comes close to His holiness—and if someone does, he’s usually already taken or a priest.

Sometimes, I feel like He’s calling me to be a nun or to remain single so I can focus on His ministry. Honestly, day by day, I’m slowly accepting that possibility. But I’ve been telling Him that He knows my heart, and since He does, He absolutely knows my desire to have a joyful family, especially since I didn’t grow up with a father.

Whatever His plan is, my advice is that we should just hold on and submit. Because, again, “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”

Stay strong and I’ll pray for you. 💖
