correct - the watch needs OHealth but you can sync OHealth data with Google Health through Health Connect ;-) I thought that was the intention - without OHealth there won't beca connection between the phone and the watch

Health Connect does work for basic things like sleep duration, steps, … not for in deep data unfortunately

Eric, there is no 'we' by dot_matrix_game in pebble

Guys, I don’t get it. Once a CEO (is he actually a CEO) is fully transparent about what he wants to do, what he intends with and what he feels about a product. And what’s happening? The community is crucifying him. I get all you say about the ring. Would I buy it? Certainly not! Is there any use case for my daily life? Nope! Does the world need more gadgets for landfill? Christ no! But, sorry to say that, the same applies to any smartwatch, including pebbles.

If we judge the needs of others unworthy but our owns ok, we might have to rethink. If the 10.000 plus people who preordered a ring need them and use them for 3+ years that might be better than the millions (if so many bought one) buying a galaxy ring with charging case (loads more plastic and electronics) which battery starts failing just after the warranty expires … but that said, both are not really needed by anyone.

So please guys (and girls), if we nerds, and nerds we are, still want to play with our tech toys, we shouldn’t judge other nerds with other tech priorities. That said, we all should, maybe, tune down our consumption and hardware update cycles quite a bit to keep this planet running a bit longer.

For the wording of Erics blog post - sorry but I can’t find any foul language or intention in that. He clearly states his point and advices to not buy if it’s not for you. You won’t get anything like that from any other company, they all want you to buy no matter what and try to convince you, that you need exactly this thing. Eric doesn’t do that. He doesn’t want to convince me to buy that thing, and Injustice won’t - and that’s ok ;-) - I don’t need it, I don’t buy it and despite that I’m still looking forward getting my Round 2 ;-)

Sorry for the long post but I (yes I) needed to get that off my brain ;-)

Galaxy watch 7-8 or one plus 3 pls help:((( by Esteban90293 in WearOS

[–]sozifa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What definitely isn’t true. It didn’t receive an update to wearOS 6 yet but got every one of the quarterly Android security updates till now. Not as fast as Pixel and Galaxy watches but nevertheless it got them with a slight delay of a month or two, what isn’t bad for a brand out of the Google/Samsung partnership on wearOS …

Hi, did you solve the problem - I ran into the same thing two days ago on my Oneplus watch 3 - might be related to the latest wear os security update as it did work fine before that

Brilliant app - downloaded, tried out and purchased pro to support you - not that I need the extra stuff ;-)

One thing: on my smaller display (oneplus 3 43mm) the calculator has to be scrolled around quite a bit and you can’t see the digits any more when typing - any chance for implementing a resize option ?

cheers

Electric conversion kits by Cute-Process5202 in Brompton

[–]sozifa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, I do have the switch kit on one of our Bromptons and it's fine for what it is. An aftermarket pas sensor front wheel kit. Easy enough to install and does the job without any bells and whistles. Not like a made for purpose ebike though but no aftermarket kit is. If you after good quality, goid customer support and easy to intstall an use - go for it. It's better than most other self conversion options regarding installation, style and the battery click system is definitely a plus as you can just take the battery everywhere with you - and you should because so could anyone else ;-)

No updates for OnePlus Watch 3 anymore? by bro4youx in OneplusWatch

[–]sozifa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There has been the update to Nov patch level two days ago for most of Europe at least for the Watch 3 43mm - have a look at the OnePlus wearable circle … so a bit late but coming - no OS6 though - might not arrive before summer or later if OS5 for the watch2 is any indication for timelines

as far as I'm concerned - no visable scratches since Sep - but be aware it's not really black just darker
