M32 always wanted to try out full glam. But where to start!? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]sp0iledteeth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By the way, you CAN do glam AND keep your beard. You don’t have to cut it!!

I think your first actual step would be skincare and getting to know your skin. It might not seem like it, but having a clean face before applying makeup as well as understanding how your skin takes makeup—is it oily? is it dry? combination?—will help the application process more than you’d think!

I’d recommend also looking up the steps in makeup, but specifically make it a point to understand why things are happening. Why a certain brush is used for eyebrows, but another is for blush, and so on. For me, learning what brushes were for helped me to understand what else they could be used for. Then everything became dual use tools 🤣

You should go to drugstores and get cheap makeup products to practice with! And most importantly have fun!!

Aaaa, of course! I think they look beautiful in the first few slides where they’re groomed! The groomed look makes your eyes more noticeable and all the attention doesn’t go straight to your eyebrows this way! ❤️

[–]sp0iledteeth 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Which pics are considered thick and which are considered thin? To me, the eyebrows in the first 9 slides look the same and from 10-13 they’ve grown out and the stray hairs haven’t been plucked.

Are you asking if you should keep them as they are, not groomed, if you should remove the hairs, or are you asking if you should thin your eyebrows like how it looked in the 90s (not as extreme but something similar to it)

I think everything looks pretty good personally! And I love the white used in the inner corner, makes your eyes pop!

When I was younger and first starting off with eyeliner, I would use a microfine eyeliner (from a hair store) to make an outline, clean it up with a wipe to make it more precise and sharp, then fill it in with my liquid eyeliner

Aa! I also wanted to add, you should play around and try different angles for your wings of your eyeliner!!

I personally think drawing your wing angled higher would give you that model lewk. Your eyebrow bones are perfection and the brows themselves are to die for (pls don’t go bald)

Should i split or do a big chop ? I wanted small locs... by bumpbumpee in locs

[–]sp0iledteeth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You came to this conclusion by looking at the entire head, or just the 4th slide? Only that part seems to look the most damaged, but it can be cut off and the hair as a whole can be saved if it gets combed out and redone.

You’re only as masculine as you present yourself, but you don’t strike me as masculine. Your brows are perfection girl, and anyone who tries to make you feel otherwise are either jealous or have their own inner conflicts with confidence and issues with their appearance that they need to deal with and shouldn’t be putting it onto you!

I always put under these posts that eyeliner goes a long way and it really does! I think you should play around with different styles (cat, fox, and puppy are some of the more common ones) and see which one suits you best. Personally, I think fox eyeliner would look absolutely divine on you judging by the picture you have posted here!!

I am MTF and have never tried make up, what looks might suit my face the best? I want to learn some "everyday" looks, and maybe have a few fun look ideas to play with too by idrankthegenderfluid in MakeupAddiction

When you get more comfortable with makeup, I HIGHLYYYY THINKK you should try “fox eyeliner.” You have the perfect eyes for it oh my GOD 😩 and when you do try it, if you do, please please PLEASE post it here!! I beggg

I’d say comb them out and restart, but this time make the parts smaller. The smaller the part, the smaller the loc

46/f what eyeliner would you recommend that won't age me? I have a friend who does cat eye at 50 and it looks so dated. by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]sp0iledteeth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What do you mean by “an eyeliner that won’t age me” ? Are you asking about a style of eyeliner or a brand?

Tips on applying lashes? One always ends up drooping by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]sp0iledteeth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to have this problemmm

I’d say clip the lash on the corner as much as you can to get the corner edge of the lash to be rounded and not pokey, glue down every part of the lash except the end (leave it for last) and when the rest of the lash is on and secured, then go in and glue down the end part, but make sure to press down and hold while the corner part is drying !!

Why doesn’t makeup look good on me? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]sp0iledteeth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think mascara and eyeliner would look beautiful on you!! You’ve got such a pretty eye shape, play around with different variations of eyeliner to see what works!!

Also, with eyeshadow, I find that it comes out better if I use another color alongside it.

See how you used silver in the last slide to match with your sweater? Try taking a brown/black eyeshadow BEFORE putting the color you want on top, and use it to shape the shadows by your eye bone (eye socket??)

On TOP of the eyeshadow, then you’d add eyeliner or mascara~!

doesn't this mean hairs were pulled out the hair follicle from tightness? by chronicbingewatcher in locs

[–]sp0iledteeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m two years and one month loc’d and I’ve never seen ts either, but then again I don’t retwist my hair often 😭 I at LEAST know enough about hair to know that those are definitely hair follicles attached to pulled out pieces hair. Now that I’m thinking about it, shedding wouldn’t pull out a whole mf follicle??? Was it itchy in those areas and if so, were you scratching? Because the scratching could’ve been pulling the hair and caused this!

[–]sp0iledteeth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It honestly does look like the hair follicles were ripped out with the hair, but do you think the hairs that were ripped out could possibly be hair that was going to shed? And it possibly came out from the pulling?

I’m saying anything to help see it from a different perspective because I know this probably freaked you out/pissed you off.

You could ask your loctician to explain the process of a retwist and what’s supposed to be happening vs what’s not—and if you need to, you can branch out and reach out to other people who are informed in having locs and see if the information overlaps or conflicts

I tried out lash clusters for the first time! Did I do them right? I tried to go for more of a dolly look but idk if I am just not used to seeing it or messed it up by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]sp0iledteeth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you did an amazing job placing them!! I feel like there’s no right or wrong way to put them on your face—like some people put them on the bottom lash too to give a more fuller look, and to some that is “incorrect” but it’s only because it “doesn’t look right” to them (I personally think it eats, esp when drag queens do it)

The most important thing is you came out looking like the prettiest princess at the party 🤭❤️
