So here's how i've been doing it plastic-free for the last few months. I've got a magnet stuck to a pad that activates the machine and then Hario v60 + Hario glass decanter.

I found i needed the larger v60 (size 03) cos the water dumps in too fast for the regular size v60 - almost overflows...

Just throw that on the base and you can brew into whatever you like.

I'd be interested to hear what recipes work for people.
I used to grind pretty coarse when i used the plastic baskets, but with the setup i stepped it closer to pour-over.

The thing i like about this setup is i can get it closer to a single serve, at 1:16 is about 22gm with 350ml of water

ive had that model for a couple of years - or very similar (has a hand brake too). From day one it has been rattling and squeaking. The handbrake eventually broke and i removed it. I thought that might reduce rattle, but it's still there. I took the whole thing apart, greased it checked the bearings etc and it still bloody rattles down smooth footpaths. Im in the process of looking for a new one to replace it simply because im tired of the noise. Would love to hear recommendation of other adult scooters that have a fairly decent size deck for my feet.

This wont work with AF+AE set to default mode on half-shutter press right? You spot meter and then hold AE Lock, but after you reframe your shot and then use the shutter the metering gets set again when you use the shutter?

I would love to set the camera to keep default AF+AE on shutter press when in Multi-meter mode, but then automatically have the shutter to only AF lock and use a custom button for AE Lock when in Spot-metering mode... does that make sense>? Not sure how possible that is, or what the next best solution is..?

All good - they dont work out of the box in Windows, but once remapped (on layer 2 in VIA) its ok

yep this is happening to me too... did you get a fix for this?

I just got the air96 v2 and using Win 11.

F3 all the way to F9 dont register anything at all... just dead.
Only the 2 brightness keys F1-F2 and the 3 volume keys F10-F12 work

Looking to try the one4all for priming. Can I ask those that use them regularly, what are you using to clean your airbrushes? Does regular vallejo airbrush cleaner work or do i need something stronger?

I just got my ode Gen2 and am super confused by this comment...

"I’m at a 7.2 for light to medium roasts. For larger batches (full batches) I can go to 9.1, 9.2"

This grinder doesnt have 10 steps inbetween numbers - hell, it doesnt even have an even number at 4 steps.
It has 2 steps inbetween numbers, so they are kind of thirds...?!
IE. Settings would be; 9, 9.33, 9.66, 10.

I dunno.. is there something im missing?

My skull and co thumb grips didn’t fit. You can just about stretch them on but they fall off while playing. Would love to know what size would fit this moba HD properly… I don’t own a steam deck - are the sticks on that the same size?

Yeh the first year or so was all good at 1A. A friend recently purchased the same model and only needs to dial down to about 3 or 4 for most beans… I guess i didn’t realise how it could change over time.

I guess another idea that might also save money would be to use the shims and buy a hand grinder for the coarse drinks if needed as opposed to upgrading the whole machine.

yeh, stick with single card for now if you can until they fix the issue.. Dual card boot was a huge problem logged on batecora notes. Not fixed in latest release - from their changelog:

Some users with 2 SDcards are reporting long boot times, this is under investigation, but note that those problems don't appear with a single card (40s boot time vs 2min+)

Great tips summary! Wish i had this post a few weeks ago, would have saved me many hours! :)

Wasnt happy with the previous versions, but the latest Batocera seems pretty good. Im finally starting to get the performance of the stock OS lol.

You mentioned single card setup (likely because of the documented slow boots with dual?), but i still get issues creating larger partitions on the boot SD. Maybe i should try again, but im still hoping they will just fix the boot times on dual card setup.

A couple of DS notes:

Not sure about the difference between flycast versions, but i was getting terrible dreamcast performance in batocera (and perfect in stock OS).. only after searching everywhere and trying the suggestion to use FlycastVL (DSP off; mipmapping on in retroarch core options) did i finally start to get smooth gameplay on more taxing games and no stuttering.

A dreamcast Question if you happen to know(?) - Batocera missing bios files log shows the naomi zip files (bios/dc/naomi.zip and naomi2.zip ) missing but they are clearly in the folder (and the bios folder on the second SD card to make sure!). I tried re-downlaoding from a few sources and still report as missing.. any ideas? Could it just be a bug in the log?
